I believe that learning and education is a life-long pursuit. Students need to be successful and good teachers give students these tools. Learning though is a two way street where every student needs to share the burden of success with the teacher. One of the greatest assets a teacher can instill in a students is the love of learning. When the student want to learn and feels the rewards of learning, the education process becomes that much more rewarding.

I am a highly passionate and effective mathematics educator with over 30 plus years of tutoring, teaching, and coaching experience. My teaching philosophy is to meet students where they are at. I believe that each student is unique and that my teaching should cater to their individual needs. I have worked with different level of math students ranging from middle school to graduate level. I especially work well with struggling math students and have a high percentage success rate with them. I graduated from Florida International University with a degree in Business Management. I earned my education credits through Florida Atlantic University, and I received a Master's in Mathematics Education from Nova Southeastern University. In addition to teaching mathematics, I also teach Mindfulness techniques and strategies to at risk middle school and high school students. I am also certified to and currently coaching new and veteran teachers in areas such as classroom management and effective teaching stratagies. In my spare time I enjoy traveling and spending time with loved ones.

I believe that students, for the most part, already know the answer, sometimes, a little extra practice is needed. I am dedicated to helping students succeed by showing them just how much they already know! My goal is to make sure that students actually understand why they know the answer, as opposed to memorizing how to solve the problem.

I am a graduate of Skidmore College, where I received a Bachelors degree in Biology. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in biology with a focus on ecology, evolution, and animal behavior. I currently teach at the college level intro Biology classes and have taught high school, and graduate students in biology, molecular biology, ecology, and evolution. I enjoy showing people how science can be engaging, fun, and relatable. Science can seem intimidating and complex, but I hope to show students how these science concepts are already part of their everyday life.

Having been raised in Europe, some of my earliest childhood memories are of yearly family vacations in France. Later, throughout my school years, I participated in an exchange program, where I lived with a French family and went to school in Rennes, Bretagne.The French language has always held a special delight for me. I completed my university studies in French literature and philosophy. While attending Trinity College I gave private tuition to students.I have worked in Paris and Canada in bilingual capacites for example, with an international school where I managed private and group classes for individuals of all backgrounds and ages. I teach in a way that is fun and encouraging, while giving students a greater appreciation of the richness of Francophone culture. This is best accomplished through French conversation while still focussing on reading, writing and comprehension. Very quickly, students will be able to converse with confidence and ease.À bientôt!

I have obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Developmental Psychology from the Ohio State University with honors distinction and summa cum laude. In high school, I tutored geometry, algebra I, and algebra II. In college, I was a teaching assistant in human physiology, which has many of the same foundations as biology. Throughout my years as a tutor, I have developed an immense passion for helping teach the next generations. I greatly enjoy helping others achieve their goals and learn new material. My favorite subject is biology, as that is my major and the area in which I have the most expertise. During my time teaching human physiology, I often had over 700 students per class, so I quickly learned how to tailor my tutoring and teaching to match each student's individual learning style, as not all of my 700+ students learned the exact same way. I believe that all students have unique preferred methods of learning and I like to tailor my teaching to whatever will help the student best, whether that is providing practice questions, walking the students through examples, providing mnemonic devices, or even drawing diagrams that illustrate the information. In my spare time, I enjoy workouts such as pilates and yoga, playing piano, sketching, and spending time with my pet lizard, Dina.

I have a very wide range of academic passions, as an engineer-focused researcher who almost majored in English. I have lived in Spain for 4 months and am currently living in Costa Rica working on a 3D printed artificial leg. Through many years of classes and living abroad, my Spanish grammar is on par with, if not better than, my English grammar. I have tutored kindergarteners to grad students and everywhere between in a wide variety of subjects, including ACT test prep, and I believe that everyone is capable of learning with the right amount of patience, motivation, and strategy. In my free time I like to play sports, play board games, bake, and just adventure around.
