I am an adventurer at heart and I love the process of discovery. My philosophy about tutoring is that we do not need students who just learn but rather students who are inspired to learn. Only after they have been inspired will they be motivated to do well and even take their learning and create something new with it. Having earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering and Management with a concentration in Engineering Leadership, I am very passionate about math and the way it describes the world around us. However, I really love any subject that relates back to who we are as humans and allows us to innovate and create. My hope and goal is that the students who love math will see the math in art and those who love art will see art in math. Most of all, I hope my students find a passion for learning.

I am a recent graduate from Tufts University, graduating last semester - Fall 2013 - as an early graduate. I received my Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on MEMS systems. Currently and while at Tufts, I have been working for the Center of Engineering Education Outreach Center. I am currently involved in a project helping students from Indonesia learn engineering concepts and fundamentals using LEGOs.I enjoy tutoring students in all levels of mathematics and physics. As an engineer, I understand the need for young students to be scientifically literate and capable. I love helping struggling students understand mathematical concepts that they didn't believe they were capable of learning. In my free time, I thoroughly enjoy climbing, hiking, and running.

Every year the knowledge base of the world increases dramatically. More than just adding to the cumulative knowledge of the past, some would say that information is increasing at an exponential rate. Currently, students are being asked to absorb this information; often without a proper structure or guidance as to how this can be accomplished. Having already made this journey myself, I am very excited to join Varsity Tutors and to help motivated students in their quest for a meaningful role within society.

The following year, in 2003, he won a Best Make-Up award at the same festival for his 2nd feature, "GABRIELLA." In total, he has written, produced, acted and directed four feature films.He has also co created and produced two internet TV shows: "I'M STANDING HERE," a travel show, and "FOOD AND FUN," a food and entertainment show.In 2007 he created INSIDER MAG RADIO as a supplement to THE INSIDER MAG, a traveler's magazine, which he publishes. This is distributed in airports across the United States.In 2010 he relocated back to the Boston area and began producing INSIDERMAG RADIO from a local studio.In 2011 THE ANTHONY DUVA SHOW starring Anthony and Ashley was created and the show moved to its flagship station WTIM.The radio show was reformatted again in 2012 as THE DUVA SHOW Live with Anthony, produced by Insider Mag Radio.He has also produced Equity Waver Theater in Los Angeles and has written four full length plays.He has written a travel book TRAVELS WITH ZELDA and this is his first book.These days, he he is an ESL teacher and a private in home tutor and currently a doctoral candidate at Northeastern University in Boston.

I am very passionate about helping people because I want to see other people succeed and be happy.I have worked with students with disabilities as a notetaker and tutor, I have also tutored high school and middle school students, and adults. I have a Bachelors Degrees in Earth Science and a double minor: Secondary Education and Economics from The City College of New York. I am currently working towards getting my Master. Some of the subjects that I tutor include: Math, Spanish, Earth Science. My favorite subject to tutor is Math because I think math isa lot of fun and I feel that I have the knowledge and strategies to break it down so that people can understand it better. My teaching philosophy is that everybody has the right to a good education. My tutoring style is very interactive because I work with the student and assess their learning by asking questions. I have a strong interest for sports, particularly for soccer. I also love to play piano and chess.

I recently graduated from Oklahoma City University with a major in economics and a minor in mathematics.I have had over 6 years of experience as a private tutor, I work with several online tutoring services, and while I was in college I worked with my school's tutoring center.While I am qualified to tutor many subjects, my favorite subject by far is math, specifically calculus. Math is a subject almost universally hated, and I believe that is mainly due to the narrow way in which it is taught. I have ADHD, and I often don't understand things the first time they are explained to me, meaning over the years I have had to figure out different ways of looking at information. Oftentimes, all a student needs is for something to be explained in a different way, and I love watching people finally understand a concept. Everyone learns differently, but everyone can learn.

I am an exercise science student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, a yoga instructor, and a personal trainer. I tutor yoga, science, nutrition and study skills. I love to learn, and I cannot wait to share my passion with you! I have benefitted from quality tutoring myself, and I hope to be able to help many other students succeed. I have taught yoga for many years, in person, and virtually, as well as tutored students in academic subjects. I try to make learning as fun and exciting as possible, and I am very patient and positive when I am teaching. I lived and traveled to many Spanish speaking countries and not only learned the nuances of Spanish between them but also their culture and traditions. I promise you that you will learn more than just how to communicate in Spanish if you choose me as your teacher.

Having taught politics at the University of Glasgow in the UK, I know what the top universities expect of their students and I know what it takes to get there. That is why my tutoring approach not only focuses on helping my students learn essential material; it also focuses on helping my students learn how to learn for themselves so that they can become independent and critically-minded thinkers. I do this by creating a challenging yet entertaining learning environment. With a strong academic background in government, history, economics and literature, I understand the challenges my students face in each subject. Having also worked as a personal trainer, I learned what it takes to motivate my clients physically and mentally.
