Howdy! My name's Joey, I love all things music and tech as well as hitting the gym. I hold degrees in mechanical and aerosapce engineering as well as scientific computing from the University of Glasgow and University of Pennsylvania. I've been an instructor and TA at both institutions and I greatly enjoy sharing knowledge!

I graduated from Yale University with a degree in Math and Philosophy. Currently, I am a music and entertainment critic-hopeful. I have tutored for over four years now with specialties in mathematics, logic, philosophy, English, and the ACT.

I recently completed my bachelors also at Carnegie Mellon University in Electrical and Computer Engineering as well as Human Computer Interaction. Over the last several years, I have experience teaching a wide variety of students ranging from elementary school math, introduction to programming for children, as well as college level classes. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Math, Physics, and Computer Science. I really enjoy teaching programming, especially in fun and engaging ways. I like to relate what I teach to things my students are passionate about, or teach them through fun activities and games, so that they are easier to understand. I also help students prepare for standardized tests and have several strategies that I can share, especially for the math section of the tests. As for my experience, I have tutoring experience in both one-to-one settings, going as far back as high school, and group/classroom settings, especially from my 4 years of tutoring with Yale MATHCOUNTS. Then we can build on their knowledge and break down the challenging parts of the problem into smaller, more manageable chunks. I hold a bachelor's degree from UChicago and a doctorate from MIT, both in mathematics. I am available to tutor Latin, physics, and all levels of math. Outside of academics, I am an avid tournament chess player, and I enjoy running and cycling.

Math has been my passion ever since high school - from earning 1st place nationally in Calculus and Linear Algebra, to competing on the AMC 10, AMC 12, and AIME exams. At Princeton, I tutored peers in Multivariable Calculus, and since then I've worked with middle school through college students in Geometry, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Calculus, and SAT/GRE quantitative prep. I'm dedicated to simplifying complex ideas and helping students build confidence in their own problem-solving skills! I also built my first artificial intelligence tool in 2018, and currently enjoy helping integrate LLMs and Agents for companies!
