Certified Tutor

Hi! I'm Ana, a certified English teacher with over 10 years of experience working with students of all ages, from preschool to adult learners.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in English with a minor in Spanish, and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction: Multicultural Education from Florida Atlantic University. I'm certified to teach English for grades 6 through 12, and I currently teach online to students ages 8 to 12, where I specialize in making remote learning fun, active, and effective.

Throughout my teaching career, I've taught Middle and High School Language Arts, including Literature, Grammar, Composition, and ESOL English. I've also supported students in World History, Geography, and Spanish, and I love helping bilingual and multilingual learners grow in confidence. My background as a former writer and editor gives me a strong edge when it comes to teaching writing with clarity and voice.

For younger learners, I use interactive strategies that keep sessions engaging and age-appropriate. I help build foundational skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking while making sure learning feels positive and encouraging. For older students, I provide test prep support for exams such as the GED, GRE, LSAT, and more, including detailed feedback and coaching to improve performance and reduce stress.

As a bilingual educator who lived and studied in Valencia, Spain, I bring a global mindset to every lesson. I value strong communication with families and work closely with parents to support student growth. Whether your child is just beginning their learning journey or preparing for advanced academics, I'm here to help them succeed.

Outside of teaching, I love to travel, read nonfiction, practice yoga, watch soccer, and cook healthy meals. I look forward to working with your child and helping them meet their goals with confidence.
