I am comfortable tutoring a broad range of topics in the sciences and math for standardized exams. I feel most confident with organic chemistry since I have helped many struggling or confused students map out the reactions and mechanisms, develop study habits, and ace their exams. As an instructor, my aim is to focus on teaching concepts and fundamental principles since this approach builds understanding and allows students to tackle any problems they face.

I am now a rising First-Year in the class of 2024 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Throughout my life, I have been fascinated by all things STEM, but in particular, I have become especially passionate about math and chemistry. At MIT, I plan to major in applied mathematics, physics, or chemical engineering to pursue these interests. In high school, I was also involved in the Math Study Center as a volunteer tutor where I would meet with students from all courses to provide assistance with homework or classwork. During my three years as a study center tutor, I met with students in algebra 1 all the way up to students in multivariable calculus and linear algebra. By far, I enjoyed tutoring calculus the most due to its immense applicability and adaptability. I am also particularly passionate about organic chemistry and have spent much of my high school career taking classes and doing projects on the subject. In my experience, tutoring is most effective when students are given the opportunity to discover results independently. My role as a tutor is to guide and facilitate this journey of discovery. Outside of academia, I enjoy the piano, folding origami models, and playing squash.

I'm a recent graduate of the University of Notre Dame. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Science-Computing--the University's equivalent of the pre-med major, but with additional credits reserved for a few Computer Science electives. While there, tutoring was one of the main activities I was involved in, and I found it deeply fulfilling when I'd see a certain idea suddenly click for my tutees.

I am a junior at Johns Hopkins University studying biomedical engineering and applied mathematics. I have tutored elementary through high school students in my area in some capacity for the past four years. I am most passionate about math and science (particularly chemistry), though I am well versed in a broad range of subjects. In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis and eating lots of good food.

I am a rising junior at Vanderbilt University studying chemical engineering and mathematics. Throughout high school, I tutored both individuals and groups in a variety of subjects including algebra and physics. At Vanderbilt, I've had the opportunity to teach at local Nashville elementary and middle schools as part of Vanderbilt Student Volunteers for Science. I am passionate about tutoring math and science, and even though these subjects are often considered "dry," the right teaching style can spark any student's interest. When it comes to standardized test preparation, I've found that knowing the intricacies of a test can improve a student's score just as much as knowing the subject material can. Different students learn in different ways but that kind of personal attention is difficult to provide in a classroom. With one on one tutoring sessions, any student can excel, even in the subjects he or she has the most trouble in. When I tutor a student, my first goal is to figure out the best way to teach this individual, as no single style can suit everybody. In my free time, I enjoy playing volleyball, watching football and soccer, exercising, and reading about modern science and new technology.
