Gastroenterology Tutoring FAQ
The digestive system is one of the most fully understood systems in the human body. Because it is so well-documented, the amount of material to keep straight when studying it can be overwhelming. There often seem to be an endless number of enzymes, drugs, and cellular receptors. In fact, understanding the gastrointestinal system demands an understanding of the multitude of other systems with which it interacts. Having an appreciation for the ability of the muscular system to propel food, the endocrine system to modulate the release of enzymes, and the circulatory system to absorb nutrients is critical to a true understanding of gastroenterology.
If you are someone who is struggling to make sense of all the complex material covered in gastroenterology, Varsity Tutors can help you connect with experienced tutors who are experts in the field. These tutors have earned top grades in their own coursework in the field. Your tutor has the broadly based education that one needs to truly understand how the gastrointestinal system fits into the larger framework of human physiology. Many have spent years developing their understanding, as well as reflecting on what methods work best for learning the concepts of gastroenterology. Appreciation for the context of any one physiological system does not come easily.
Why waste months trying to make sense of the details of gastroenterology when you can build upon the base that your tutor has already developed? You do not need to struggle through building your knowledge from the ground up when you already have an instructor who can share his or her knowledge. Moreover, because your tutor has significant professional experience in the field, you can hear one-on-one about the applications of gastroenterology to clinical research and medical diagnoses. Your gastroenterology tutor is a valuable resource for learning about medication administration, the realities of patient care, and other practical knowledge that can never be adequately gleaned from the pages of a review book.
By working with an experienced tutor in gastroenterology, you are able to benefit from a hands-on learning experience that isn't available in the classroom. You can study under the guidance of an experienced tutor who is dedicated to ensuring that all of your academic and personal needs are being met. Furthermore, you have control over the pace of the course, and are able to spend extra time covering difficult material while completely skipping over concepts that you already have a foundation in.
Your private tutor is committed to working around your busy schedule. This means that you can choose to study together at a time that is best suited for you, whether that's in the mornings, evenings, or even over the weekend. Furthermore, you can study in the comfort of your own home, or anywhere else you choose. You can even request face-to-face online sessions using our live learning platform. Whatever your needs are, your instructor is happy to accommodate them to make your learning experience enjoyable and convenient.
We can help you connect with educators who have not only demonstrated a remarkable mastery of the material, but have also proven themselves to be superb communicators and gifted instructors. Maybe you are a medical student embarking on an elective rotation, or a newly minted medical intern just starting out. Additionally, nurses, physician assistants, and pharmacists-in-training can all benefit from a more thorough understanding of gastroenterology. Gastroenterology tutoring offers you a custom-tailored course of study to enhance your understanding with a focus that addresses your weaknesses. A truly individualized curriculum cannot be matched by generic resources, review books, or large lectures given by teaching assistants. Contact Varsity Tutors and let us assist you in connecting with a gastroenterology tutor who can help you on your way to success!

Recent Gastroenterology Tutoring Session Notes
Continued with the student. I am seeing some improvements- he did some homework, and I am seeing big improvements in his test-taking strategies (approaching questions logically, using elimination, not guessing!).
The student and I's second session together went very well. We started with another review of letters by sight. She's doing great with identifying sounds; she has a little trouble with vowels, so that's an area we will be working on. We then worked on words that begin with L, G, and B. We practiced tracing and printing those letters and words that begin with those letters. Her printing is right on track -- she's already great at writing all the letters in her name and is definitely on track with most other letters, too. Then we worked on writing the numbers 1-10. We also worked on identifying and drawing some shapes. She's great at identifying all shapes (rectangles, squares, circles, ovals, and triangles) and can draw most of them well -- she has a bit of trouble with triangles and ovals, so we will continue working on those. This was another great session and I look forward to next week!
Today I worked on reviewing the student's mistakes in her last math test ( she got an 89 ). Her mistakes were small and we sorted it out. We also worked on her science review sheet and went over the information she will be needing for the final.
I met with the student for our final session before her ACT. We went over test three in its entirety, and I feel confident in her ability to complete sections in the allotted time. She has a good grasp on all sections, and I know she will do well.
For this session, the student wrote a practice narrative essay. We went over the writing, and talked a little bit about compound sentences and how to make the writing flow a little bit more smoothly. We also talked about where she could add adjectives.
Today the student and I prepared for her chemistry test covering acids and bases. We calculated pH values during titrations, looked at titration curves, discussed the meaning of equivalence points, and talked about salt hydrolyses. She had a much better understanding of the material after our session.
