I graduated from Taylor University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Creative Writing. I am currently a student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and working toward a Master's in Counseling and School Personnel Psychology. I have worked with students in varies capacities, such as daycare facilities, summer school programs, and school environments. These settings have given me the opportunity to experience working with students from various cultures and backgrounds. The students I have worked with range in grade levels from elementary school all the way through college. I tutor in English, Art, Phonics, Reading, Social Studies, Social Sciences, Writing, essay editing, some test prep, and, of course, Psychology. I feel that my strengths lie in the areas of Psychology, Writing, Reading, and Essay Editing. I am passionate about enabling and empowering students within the realm of education (hence my current course of study) and can see this translating into every tutoring session. I want to make the tutor-tutee relationship a positive, educational, and fun one. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, photography, biking, cooking and baking, and listening to and playing music.

I am a Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. I have had a lot of experience tutoring standardized prep through my own old tutoring non-profit. I believe in learning by doing, so we are going to be doing a lot of practice problems to learn all the best test taking methods!

I have been a teaching assistant for 8 times and have taught more than 2000 students. One of the best experiences of my life was when I was given the opportunity to teach a class of about 300 students. It was a great Opportunity to see how it looks from the other side. So given that I have been a student, TA and instructor I can bring that all to the table to better help my students understand and learn the subject.

I had my first experience with tutoring when I was in college at University of Northwestern, St. Paul. I had the opportunity to tutor a 9th grade boy in his English Learning. The following year I spent six weeks teaching English in China. I then was a middle school ESL teacher for three years. I've worked with students of all ages from Kindergarten to PhD level. I believe in teaching to the whole student and I enjoy hands-on learning activities to make learning more fun and interactive. I recognize the fact that each student is an individual with different learning styles. I speak some Spanish and Chinese and love learning about other cultures.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Physics with a focus on Astrophysics, I also have a degree in Chemistry. While in college I tutored Physics and Calculus and after I graduated I traveled to Russia to get my certificate to Teach English as a Second language and also to teach adults, teenagers and small children where I was also able to teach a Spanish class. I spent the summer in a summer camp in Turkey where I help teenagers and kids with their everyday life and activities in English. While I love Physics and Math, I am tutoring several Math topics, such as, Algebra, Calculus, Pre-Algebra, Pre-Calculus and also Spanish and English. I must say my favorite topic to tutor is Calculus because it helps you understand and analyze different problems in a very different way.I like helping students because I don't think they should feel like they can't accomplish something because they don't understand a topic very well, they should be able to accomplish everything they want and since education is very necessary nowadays to have the life they want to have.It is truly amazing to help people follow their dreams.In my free time, I love learning and practicing new languages and reading about Space and the different cultures around the world.

I really like reading and writing (it's most of what I do in and out of work) and I enjoy making myself useful by sharing my knowledge with other students.
