I am a graduate of The College of New Rochelle. I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling with a focus of Adolescents and Families. I also have an Associates in Paralegal Studies, and Bachelors in Behavioral Science, and another Masters in Sports Exercise Psychology. Since graduation, I have been a entrepreneur and coach for single moms and their children on how to reset their lives after the incarceration of a loved one. With my guidance, moms discover how to bury the "prison wifey" stigma as they create a fulfilling life for themselves and their children. I have tutored both children and adults one to one that were seeking extra help in Math, English, Science, Social Studies, etc. and Special Education. As I am a certified Life and Transitional Coach that has experience in working in group home settings, court facilitated settings, schools, and private home based. I am most passionate with Special Education and the flexibility of being able to not only teach and mentor and advocate but to help a student grow. I believe that anybody can learn as long as it is fun and exciting and stretches them beyond their comfort zone. In my spare time, I enjoy golfing, educating my children and traveling and mentoring and coaching in the realm of life skill, mindset, finances, emotional trauma, etc.

In high school I was a volunteer tutor at my middle school where I tutored students one on one in overall homework help and subjects like algebra and earth science. In college, I am apart of Tufts Tutoring where I tutor local Medford High School Students. I also have a year experience tutoring students in Physics on Varsity Tutoring. I have tutored three students in overall homework help, Spanish, and physics. Even though I have tutored students in a wide variety of subjects, my favorite subjects to tutor in are science and math. These are tough subjects for all students and subjects that I have struggled with in the past. Being able to help students like me that feel frustrated in science and math in school and in standardized testing gives me great happiness. Education and learning is so important and valuable and being able to help students through the tricky parts of it gives me great joy.

I have a BA in Political Science from New College of Florida and a MFA in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. While I'm a photographer by trade, I also have a passion for and expertise in Math and the Natural Sciences -- as well as French and Spanish, having studied and worked in both Paris and Central America. While I'm proficient now, I struggled with both languages early on, and understand the challenges of both starting a new language and in moving from a conversational to a more proficient level. I'm also available for ACT and SAT test prep -- and work especially well with students who are visual learners (though I have a wide range of materials and resources for all styles of learning!).

In the meantime, I am a substitute teacher for high school and middle school students. History and politics are my favorite subjects to teach, and I am an excellent writer. Essays, short stories, and research papers have always been a strength of mine. Throughout college, my peers sought me out for writing advice, and I often obliged them by editing their work. I volunteer to teach basic reading skills to the adult illiterate population in Baltimore, at the Greater Homewood Community Corporation, once a week. As an avid reader myself, I know how much reading can enhance one's quality of life. I am a firm believer in differentiated instruction. Not all students learn the same way. I tutor/teach students in the way that best suits their learning styles. I welcome the opportunity to teach audio, visual, or kinesthetic learners. Although history is my strength, "teaching" is my real passion. After teaching, sports are my second favorite hobby. My playing days are mostly behind me, but I’m still a huge baseball, basketball, and football fan.
