I am a graduating senior seeking to attain a Bachelors of Arts in Economics at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts. Next year I will be working at Oracle based in Burlington Massachusetts. I am also pursing a minor in Computer Science and Child Studies and Human Development. In high school I was a volunteer tutor at my middle school where I tutored students one on one in overall homework help and subjects like algebra and earth science. In college, I am apart of Tufts Tutoring where I tutor local Medford High School Students. I also have a year experience tutoring students in Physics on Varsity Tutoring. I have tutored three students in overall homework help, Spanish, and physics. Even though I have tutored students in a wide variety of subjects, my favorite subjects to tutor in are science and math. These are tough subjects for all students and subjects that I have struggled with in the past. Being able to help students like me that feel frustrated in science and math in school and in standardized testing gives me great happiness. Education and learning is so important and valuable and being able to help students through the tricky parts of it gives me great joy.

Hello! I'm a educator and visual artist with many years of experience teaching and tutoring high school and college students. I have a BA in Political Science from New College of Florida and a MFA in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design. While I'm a photographer by trade, I also have a passion for and expertise in Math and the Natural Sciences -- as well as French and Spanish, having studied and worked in both Paris and Central America. While I'm proficient now, I struggled with both languages early on, and understand the challenges of both starting a new language and in moving from a conversational to a more proficient level. I'm also available for ACT and SAT test prep -- and work especially well with students who are visual learners (though I have a wide range of materials and resources for all styles of learning!).

College English Tutor • +23 Subjects

I am an encouraging, easy-going person, and my enthusiasm for communication and expression pushes students to bring their best effort. I meet students where they are, at any age or level, to strengthen their skills and achieve their goals. When it comes to English and Writing tutoring, I regularly work with adult learners approaching university as first generation college students, international NGO professionals improving their written communication, and US military service-members prepping for career development exams. From those experiences, I have learned to communicate clearly and efficiently, helping students achieve understanding and confidence from our first session. I bring in the best support resources (including easy to understand videos, games, websites, and handouts) to support the individual learning styles and needs of the student. In my work with students who are focusing on the social sciences and humanities, I also draw on a wide range of experiences. With my Masters degree in International Affairs and BA in Liberal Arts, I have the academic foundation necessary to work with diverse student needs. My curiosity and passion for subjects like history, political science, the humanities, and general social studies is contagious because I make connections between complex or theoretical ideas and every-day human experiences. I love the process of trying to understand how the world works, and I love to share that curiosity with anyone I meet.

College English Tutor • +22 Subjects

I am currently working on my second degree from Towson University. The first is a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. I will complete my Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus on social science next May. When I graduate, I will teach high school history, civics, government, and geography. In the meantime, I am a substitute teacher for high school and middle school students. History and politics are my favorite subjects to teach, and I am an excellent writer. Essays, short stories, and research papers have always been a strength of mine. Throughout college, my peers sought me out for writing advice, and I often obliged them by editing their work. I volunteer to teach basic reading skills to the adult illiterate population in Baltimore, at the Greater Homewood Community Corporation, once a week. As an avid reader myself, I know how much reading can enhance one's quality of life. I am a firm believer in differentiated instruction. Not all students learn the same way. I tutor/teach students in the way that best suits their learning styles. I welcome the opportunity to teach audio, visual, or kinesthetic learners. Although history is my strength, "teaching" is my real passion. After teaching, sports are my second favorite hobby. My playing days are mostly behind me, but I’m still a huge baseball, basketball, and football fan.
