I have been involved in education for as long as I can remember. I started my career as an educator as a volunteer one-on-one reading tutor when I was still in high school and, ever since then, have gained a wealth of teaching experience with students of diverse backgrounds. I have worked with students as young as third grade up to learners that already have college degrees. My background as a 9th grade English teacher has given me the opportunity to work with students from low-income backgrounds, students with learning disabilities, English Language Learners as well as students from a range of racial/ethnic identities.I strongly believe in every students' ability to learn new and challenging concepts. I have a knack for presenting information in ways that resonate with students and that students can understand. I take pride in my ability to make learning fun and rewarding -- even when it is a students' most challenging subject.

Science provides us with the opportunity to learn more about the world around us. In addition, we are able to use both deductive and inductive reasoning, and the scientific method to explore some of the problems that we face in our environment today. The world of science is awesome. I look forward to working with you as we learn more about scientific phenomena.

Hello! I am Sarah and I am very passionate about teaching and learning. I believe we are all lifelong learners and we all learn differently. I have been a certified teacher now for 5 years. 2 years ago I decided to further my own education and went back to school to get my masters in Early Childhood Education.

I have been working in the education industry for 10 years, working as a certified teacher, tutor, tutor of Orton Gillingham, para-educator and substitute. I am certified in Orton Gillingham methods and have extensive experience working with kids and teens which have ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia. I have worked with all ages ranging from preschool through adults. I currently teach online ESL classes to South Korean adults in order to help them succeed in the workforce. As for my education, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English, Language and Literature, along with a Master's Degree in Secondary Education.I am married and have a seven year old daughter. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the library, watching movies, and volunteering at my local animal shelter. I am a graduate of the University of Kentucky, with a bachelor's degree in Early Elementary Education. I have been teaching kindergarten in a private school setting for five years, and previously taught pre-kindergarten for two years. I completed my student teaching in Berlin, Germany, at the JFK School in Berlin; and have since been involved in different academic settings as an educator. Teaching is my passion, and I believe our children and students deserve care, love, and respect. I pride myself on an inclusive and safe learning environment, as well as teaching the whole child. Each child has different strengths and struggles, and I would love to help educate and support students and families, based on each individualized need.

My passion for Biology started at William & Mary when I was earning my Biology BS. My teaching career started as a life science teacher in middle school, moving on to High School where I have been for the past 12 years. During that time I earned a Masters degree in Special Education. I have taught AP Biology, IB Biology HL/SL, IB Environmental Science, AP Environmental Science. In high school I played basketball and lacrosse, and enjoy any type of sport.

As a teacher, my mission has always been to make scientific knowledge accessible to ALL students, and help them see why it's worth the effort to pursue. I've been a high school physics teacher for the past 15 years, and also a strong advocate for equity in science education. I received my undergraduate degree in Physics from Amherst College, and later a masters degree in Science and Math Education from UC Berkeley. While I've always had an interest in science, I've come to see myself as someone who teaches *people* rather than *science*. That is, I really enjoy helping students become more confident & independent learners, critical thinkers, and problem solvers. I feel honored to be a part of any students' growth. :)

I received my BFA in Design and Production from Carnegie Mellon University and my Masters of Elementary Education from Vanderbilt University. I currently work as a teacher in an Early Childhood Education School that is inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy and enriches learning in the natural world.When it comes to teaching, I work to be an educator that is responsive to the needs of students, weaves student interest into academics, and creates learning environments that encourage curiosity. I am passionate about connecting with students as individuals to create a strong foundation for our learning experiences.My approach to teaching all subjects is highly adaptable to the needs of the students and their personal contexts for learning. I approach literacy with focus on the foundational phonics skills and mechanics as well as engaging in rich and relevant texts. In math, I focus on building concrete representations of the problems and building up into those more challenging symbolic representations. I work to bring games, arts integration, and brain breaks into all learning to foster a positive environment and create deep connections to the material.

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Education 1-6 with a Mathematics Concentration from Niagara University. I also received a minor in Sign Language. I continued my education at Niagara to achieve my Master's Degree in Special Education 7-12. I have been teaching in a classroom for 3 years but have been working in a classroom atmosphere since 2012. My favorite subject to tutor is math. I really enjoy Sign Language and continue to teach it to my current students. I believe that students should have a hands on learning experience and want to be motivated. Tutoring sessions should be more student-led so that they are getting the experience necessary to achieve the grades they want to.
