I love helping people and I love education, which is why I love teaching!I believe everyone can learn if they truly want to. After all, everyone has potential. I also believe that we can do hard things if we put our minds to it. For example, I chose to study Spanish and became fluent in college, without having to go on a study abroad.If we use our resources, work hard, and do our best, everything will work out. I've seen this principle in action throughout my life. I have an AAS is Arts and Sciences, a BS in Home and Family Living with a minor in Spanish, and an MA in Hispanic Linguistics. Since I graduated in 2013, I also spent two years working for FamilySearch.org and two years as a middle school teacher. Believe me; it was hard, but it was absolutely worth the work to be able to tutor now!

I graduated from Binghamton State University in 2010 with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Spanish. After completing my undergraduate studies, I moved back closer to home and continued on with Romance Languages and Literature Studies in graduate school. In 2012, I received my M.A. Degree from St. John's University, Queens, NY. Since 2012, I have been working toward a Ph.D. in Spanish at the University at Buffalo. At the University at Buffalo, I worked for 5 years as a Spanish language instructor to undergraduate students. This upcoming academic year I will be teaching Spanish in a private high school in Queens, New York.In terms of my teaching experience, I have also familiarized myself with Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) through teaching pedagogy courses as well as numerous pedagogical workshops. CLT has oriented my teaching toward a more daily, real-life usage of the language, while reducing its sometimes overwhelming grammatical load.

I graduated from Rutgers University with a major in Biology and minors in Philosophy and South Asian Studies. I have been teaching and tutoring since 2012, helping students in a number of different areas, including the MCAT sciences and even swim lessons! I am currently employed as a private MCAT tutor and content creator. As a tutor, I especially enjoy adapting my teaching to the different methods of learning and thought that each unique student has. Most of my free time is spent playing basketball, reading, and also dancing. Lastly, I will be attending New Jersey Medical School September 2019!

My passion is working with students on Reading and Writing in order for their literacy skills will become a powerful asset. I am currently a Kindergarten teacher in an inclusion classroom. I have been teaching for 3 years in a public school district. I hold a M.E.D. in Early Childhood Special Education and B.S. in Early Childhood Education. I have experience working with a wide range of learners. I feel that using student's interests can really bring learning to life. Students are much more engaged when they are interested in what they are learning. Outside of the classroom; I love to dance (tap, ballet, jazz), watch New England Sports, go to concerts, and explore new places! I am a graduate from East Carolina University where I earned by Bachelors of Science in Education and a Bachelors of Arts in History. I have been teaching/tutoring since I was 16. I teach High School Social Studies right now and I love it! I can't wait to be your tutor and help you be successful. I believe that all students learn differently and I am here to help you learn in the ways that work for you! Outside of tutoring and teaching, I coach a swim team. I love to work with children and help them fulfill their goals whether it be academia or sports or just personal goals.

I recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics this past December (2019) from the University of Texas at Dallas. I worked freelance as an online math tutor for students between sixth and tenth grade, starting in 2015. Math was a strong subject for me during my years in school, and seeing that math is a topic that students often struggle with, I enjoy the opportunity to use my skills to help others achieve their goals. I started tutoring in person during my senior year of high school and shifted to online tutoring sessions throughout college with students from around the state, with many coming from international families. I personally enjoy tutoring students because it's an opportunity to help them develop their skills and confidence in math and in day to day life. My philosophy on tutoring emphasises a strong belief in the importance of providing a positive and safe learning environment as an instructor. Additionally, with how different learning styles can be, I believe it is important as a tutor to be flexible in teaching style in order to meet the individual needs of each student.

It is my intention to help each of my students meet exceed their goals in the pursuit of learning Spanish. I will incorporate different teaching techniques and activities to help make learning Spanish as straightforward and enjoyable as possible. I will also share with my students the strategies I have found helpful during my study of Spanish, French, Portuguese and Chinese, in addition to my experience teaching college level Spanish classes for over 20 years.
