I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University in 2011 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. For the past decade I've worked in renewable energy designing wind turbines for some of the top tier global wind power companies. In 2017, I co-founded a wind power business that has been funded by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, US Department of Agriculture, and US Air Force.My approach to tutoring math and physics is to incorporate real life use cases. When students see the practical application of a subject, they are more likely to enjoy and understand it. I will incorporate aspects of renewable energy, wind power in particular, into my tutoring. Renewable energy is one of the fastest growing industries in the US and integrating it into a student's lessons can stimulate interest in a promising career path.Outside of mechanical engineering, my personal interests are soccer, carpentry, and kiteboarding.

From October 2008 until August 2012, I worked under the AimHigher and SchoolsLink programs mentoring and tutoring local elementary and high school pupils. I promoted and provided pupils with the resources to realize the goal of attaining higher education, desired exam results, and a better understanding of core subjects while sharing the opportunities that my university (UWE) had to offer on and beyond campus. This was done through in class teaching support/assistance mostly in Math classes; one-to-one or small group sessions in school libraries tutoring or mentoring students with specific needs; chaperoning and leading open day campus tours and university sponsored educational trips; and personally presenting motivational assembly speeches. A high level of communication, organization, and creativity was developed through the interactive sessions with pupils; many of the activities and lessons were planned, lead, and delivered independently and with input from school teachers. I found the impact I made in the positive and productive direction, decision, and achievement of the young pupils to be extremely rewarding.In June 2010, I was selected to be a part of the Student Associates Scheme. After getting my B.A. in Theater from Macalester College and completing two years of graduate education courses at Hamline University, I discovered a passion for one-on-one tutoring. Beyond academics, I take great guilty pleasure in watching TV shows such as Westworld, Sherlock, How I Met Your Mother, and even The Bachelorette when I'm at a low point.Beyond personal interests, tutoring has always been a side project of mine.
