This speeds up the process of scheduling tremendously.Materials: I can't emphasize this enough. I have over five years of teaching experience, and am certified as a Special Education Teacher. I am also certified as a Generalist EC-6, and English as a Second Language. I have experience in working with students with differing disabilities from visually impaired to ADHD to Down syndrome to autism. It has been a great honor for me to work with these kids and to find their unique learning potential and skill set. Helping elementary students is my passion, and I have extensive training in phonics, math, English, and science. I am so excited to work with you child, and I can't wait to see them soon!

I am a high honors, Phi Beta Kappa graduate of University of California, Santa Barbara. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature with a minor in French. During my time there, I studied abroad for a semester in Paris at the Sorbonne and the Paris Center for Critical Studies. I received the Certificate of Undergraduate Excellence in French and the Distinction in the Major award for my honors undergraduate research thesis in Comparative Literature, which was on the dynamics and representations of female transgression in the "stepwomen" of folk and fairy tales. I worked as a Writing tutor at U.C.S.B., first tutoring English to ESL foreign exchange students at the university, and then went on to work on basic study skills, writing, and essay planning and writing with undergraduates from all majors and disciplines, while also advising a few PhD candidates on their thesis writing. Since graduation, I have held multiple writing and editing positions, including my positions as Deputy Fiction Editor at the Los Angeles Review of Books and Associate Editor at Phoneme Media, a Los Angeles-based world literature and translation publisher.I am a skilled academic writer and lover of literature, and I am most passionate about tutoring English, Literature, English study skills, and Essay Writing (for both academic papers and college entrance personal statements). Not only do I believe that every student has the ability to write an essay, I believe every student has the ability to write a great one. I work to open up the blocks between students and language, changing their relationship to English and writing for the better and for the long-term...so that perhaps a tutor won't be so necessary in the future!In my spare time, I am a vegetarian and vegan cook, a runner, a soccer player, a creative writer, and an addictive reader. I am a retired elementary teacher. I also currently work as a career coach/recruiter for adults looking to find a new opportunity in the restaurant/hospitality industry. I am motivated to help others to reach their full potential. Last year after helping my grandchildren survive the sudden shift to virtual schooling, I knew I had to do what I could to also help other children and their parents. I am an undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh studying Microbiology, Chemistry, and Spanish with a 4.0 GPA. I have experience tutoring a wide variety of subjects to a diverse base of students for over 4 years. I am also an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant in a biology lab that deals with annotating a genome! I tutor to help other students succeed and further their academic pursuits while making meaningful connections and helping with the material they struggle with most.

I am a recent graduate of a Doctor of Physical Therapy program. I have been tutoring peers since I was in the 7th grade. I have a passion to educate others in any form and capacity that I can. Education is so powerful and sometimes, it takes a little bit of troubleshooting to get the student to back on track. I'm here to help make that happen!

I graduate at University of Tennessee at Martin. I have a bachelor's degree in Management and a minor in Finance. The reasons I am so passionate about helping students are mostly because a lot of students that I have taught in the past expressing their love for this language. My job was mainly helping the students with homework and their speaking skills. I am able to speak three languages French and creole which are my primary languages and English. I can teach beginners, intermediate, and anyone that is interesting in learning French. During my time studying at UTM I had a scholarship to go study in France for a month where I had the privilege to meet students from all over the world and learn about different cultures.
