Hello! I'm passionate about STEM education intertwined with the liberal arts. I double-majored in Chemical Engineering & French Language and Literature at NC State University so I value a holistic, well-rounded education. Thus, I am comfortable tutoring in many subjects, including Science,French, Math, English and standardized testing such as the ACT, SAT, and AP exams. I have significant experience as both a one-on-one middle & high school tutor during college and teaching high school students after college. When tutoring a student, I am extremely patient. I understand that struggling with a subject can be frustrating and many people prefer to avoid the work all together. I have learned that relating difficult topics to something the student enjoys is an effective learning tool. I combine this technique with hands-on examples. In my experience, practice does make perfect! My pedagogical style is process-based and goal-oriented. I like students to set a goal (or several), collaborate with me on a process to achieve it, and then put the plan into action with individualized methodology and assessment.
