Certified Tutor

My deep love of literature and my commitment to helping students at all levels drove me to complete a bachelor's degree in English from Macalester College in 2016, and to begin pursuing my Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Hamline in the same year. I am a licensed English Language Arts teacher (grades 5-12), and I also have a substitute teaching license that qualifies me to work with students of all ages. Through my work as an in-home tutor, as a volunteer tutor at the Division of Indian Work, and my work as a substitute teacher, I was able to follow my passion for helping students see themselves, their abilities, and their relationship to reading, writing, and literature, in positive new ways. I have also enjoyed working as a preceptor for several college courses in English Literature, where I helped students refine their academic writing and perform deeper analyses of a variety of dense, complex texts.

In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, swing dancing, yoga, and playing with my cats, Jiji and Quentin Tarantino.
