I am currently finishing my undergrad studies at Thomas Edison State University. I plan to receive my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics this upcoming fall, 2018. I originally got into tutoring during my first years at college. I was able to work for the college's math department lab where student's could get group or one-to-one tutoring. It was helpful for me because, as a student, I was practicing what I was learning and tutoring was just as beneficial to me as I'm sure it was to the fellow student. I plan to continue on to more education. Possibly pursue a Master's in Industrial Engineering.
As a tutor, my teaching philosophy is that of Socrates. I consider myself merely an aid for the student. I truly believe Socrates said it best when he said, "I am so far like the midwife that I cannot myself give birth to wisdom, and the common reproach is true, that, though I question others, I can myself bring nothing to light because there is no wisdom in me...The many admirable truths they [the student] bring to birth have been discovered by themselves from within."
I really enjoy traveling. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing soccer, and growing tomato and basil plants.
