Originally from the Boston area, I completed my undergrad degree at Georgetown University in Washington where I focused on Marketing, International Business, and Spanish. I have lived and worked in Boston, Spain, Belgium, Washington, Brazil, and Afghanistan. I completed an MBA in Finance and International Management at Boston University in 2012 and am recently back in the Boston area again. I enjoy traveling and adventure.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I'm very patient with students and understand how to explain things in ways that make sense with their learning styles. I enjoy getting to know how they think and helping tailor the lesson to each individual.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I'd like to spend a bit of time getting to know the student and their learning style. We could then set goals together and figure out how we will work to achieve them.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
It's important to help a student understand the broader context of the issue they might be facing and to identify other areas in which they excel which could be clues to help them with areas in which they are challenged.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
We work together and set milestones along the way to help achieve learning goals. When a student is frustrated, it is important to step back and focus on the progress already made and figure out how to make the next step together.
If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?
It's important to understand the student's learning style and play to his/her strengths. A student may understand other areas with ease and we need to work together to figure out what it is about that subject that helps them understand and apply it to something they have more difficulty with.
