Certified Tutor

For the past two and a half years, I lived in a small rural village in Namibia (a country located in Southern Africa) where I served in the Peace Corps as a high school English and Math teacher. That experience was undoubtedly the most impactful of my life. I taught at a boarding school and worked with my students 24/7 and helped them achieve some of their best successes in their academic lives. Prior to my service in the Peace Corps, I attended George Washington University where I received a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs. While living in Washington DC, I tutored elementary school students and helped develop their reading and math skills, as well as their self-confidence. I love tutoring students in English and Math and I reserve a special spot in my heart for History, including preparation for AP tests. My teaching philosophy is one that focuses on understanding and perceiving the individual needs of a student and understanding how to reach them in an effective and impactful way. I believe that my experience working with a variety of students and abilities has allowed me to reach students and inspire them to reach their potential and develop a true love for learning. When I am not working with students, I love playing and watching basketball and reading Harry Potter.
