We continued to work through the multiple choice practice problems that I left with the student from our last session. We reviewed several topics including integration by parts, position/velocity/acceleration, the Fundamental Theorems of Calculus, taking derivatives using various methods including the chain rule and implicit differentiation, and different tests for convergence for a series. He is still uncertain when it comes to determining if a series converges or diverges, but he is comfortable manipulating a power series by changing the input. He is also confident with both integrating and differentiating various types of functions. He has the rest of the practice question sets as well as a worksheet to practice finding error bounds and radius of convergence for various Taylor series/polynomials. We plan on working through or at least talking about several of the free-response practice questions, especially the ones that deal with power series.

The student and I reviewed study packets for the chapter on acids and bases. Overall, he understood most of the concept, he just needed some clarification. I had him fill out some parts of the packet for sections three and four that were not covered in class yet. This way, he is ahead of the curve and will be able to follow the teacher once the topic is taught in class. Overall, this was a very productive session.

We reviewed functions including domains and ranges. We reviewed parent functions and transformations. We reviewed even and odd functions.

We went over 20 questions on the student's study guide for the test. The test was about trigonometric functions. She took notes for all the questions and tried hard. She understood all the questions we went over.

We covered histograms, pie charts, contingency tables and how to work with categorical data. Rachel seems to understand this concept very well, and we went through her homework without much difficulty. She also received a B on her last test which is an improvement from her C on her first one.

We set goals for the semester. 1. Record homework in planner every day; 2. Follow the study schedule we made today; and 3. Work on finishing homework by 8 pm. We covered multiplying decimals. The student has a test Friday.
