I then went out into the business world for a decade before earning my Master's Degree at the University of Phoenix here in Dallas.I have tutored students as young as 4-5th grade, and college students too, but my main concentrations have been with grades 7-12. I worked with 36 high school seniors who could not pass the TAKS Tests a few years back, and was able to get 35 of the students passing grades, which allowed them to graduate. I have also helped 8th graders who needed to take assessment tests to enter high school early pass the tests and successfully move up a grade. It is a wonderful experience to help students learn, and many of those whom I work with are really smart but just ned a little guidance, confidence, or an understanding at how to look at a problem a little differently. My main subject areas have been English, Writing, Public Speaking, Math, Science, United States History and Geometry. I also tutor standardized test taking.One of my strengths as a tutor is to take difficult subjects or concepts and make them easier to understand. I am completely dedicated to helping students get better. Ever since I was in Kindergarten, I have always been an aspiring teacher. I was inspired by my kindergarten teacher to be the best I could be. She pushed me everyday in her classes and installed within me a drive and a passion to help any child in need be able to be able to know that they can do anything they put their mind to.The older I got, though, the more my aspirations changed. I still wanted to help young people, but that idea expanded. I began to love the art of dance, so my dreams developed into creating dance groups, and ended where I am now, fitness cardio.I am a current Zumba Instructor. I have a license to teach Zumba, Aqua Zumba, Strong by Zumba, and Zumba Kids and Kids Jr. I am all about helping anyone to get where they'd like to be through fitness, and so much more.Even though I became a dancing guru, I still love the idea of helping others educationally. I am currently in college and will be obtaining my Early Childhood Education degree this December 2016. I long for the day that a young child will look at me and explain how I made a difference in their life, as my teacher did for me.

I recently graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University with a BA in Psychology. I am very passionate about my undergraduate major, but I explored all different subjects and courses, as well. I was very active on my school's crisis hotline, and was an anonymous peer listener for this organization for most of my college experience. In addition, I was an intern at The Door, a non-profit downtown, where I conducted intake interviews with adolescents and connected them to the services they were interested in. In college, I was also involved in a research study on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, in the growth of a start-up, and in a club that taught conflict resolution to children around New York. I am very excited to start a graduate program for social work at NYU starting in the fall. I love working with children and adolescents of all ages, and hope to use my masters of social work to better their lives in some way. I have experience as a senior camp counselor for various camps, an assistant teacher, a babysitter, a substitute teacher, a dance teacher, and more. In my free time, I love practicing yoga, running, crafting, baking, and spending time with my family and friends.

I worked for four years in a quantum photonics lab developing cryogenic experiments studying the solid state behavior of DNA and RNA nucleotide. Additionally, I worked in a material processing lab optimizing the synthesis size of gold nano-rods and began developing starting materials for non-linear optics liquid crystals polymers. I tutored various chemistry subjects through a free service for the students at Montana State. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to work one-on-one with students. Chemistry is a complex subject and developing a students learning style and being able to adapt the information to the students needs is extremely important. Everyone learns in a slightly different way and I feel that my diverse knowledge in chemistry allows me help students look at the problem in the way that suits there learning style best. I also use a lot of visualization techniques to help bring the ideas to a more concrete realm. I moved to Montana after high school for the beauty and outdoors that it offered. I am also a fanatic snowboarder and I love snow camping out in the woods at 8,000 feet. =) I try to keep balance in my life. I look to art as my creative outlet and that allows me to balance all this wonderful science that I love.

I worked as a Writing Consultant throughout undergrad and really enjoy collaborating with writers on ANY kind of writing at ANY stage of their writing process.
