I recently graduated from NYU's Stern School of Business and had a great time helping prospective students on the GMAT. I scored extremely high through self-guided study and found I learned fun ways to teach some of the tougher concepts. I believe in making the session fun and student-driven - but also quickly finding any underlining problems with comprehension and addressing them.

I’m currently a rising senior and Presidential Merit Scholar at the University of Southern California. I’m studying biomedical engineering and planning on combining my interests in technology and medicine in my aspirations of becoming a physician.Nonetheless, education and mentorship is a huge part of my life. Throughout my entire college career, I’ve been teaching grades ranging from 3rd grade to high school about subjects ranging from life sciences, physics, and engineering concepts. I’ve also gone through my fair share of standardized testing ranging from the PSAT to the MCAT and really believe I’ve come to learn the tips and tricks you need to succeed on such tests. As a result, I have informally helped a lot of my younger peers through their academic and mental preparation for these exams. I am a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University in NJ where I studied Marine Biology with a concentration in Biotechnology. I then enrolled in and completed a Ph.D. program at Cornell University in Toxicology with minors in Pharmacology and Immunology. My independent laboratory research conducted at Cornell focused on cellular changes that may lead to cancer. I then moved into the industry with multiple biotechnology companies and worked my way up from a bench scientist to a senior management role over the last 16+ years. I have worked to develop vaccines, gene therapies, and needed research reagents and tools. I bring to tutoring the experience and interactions I’ve had from being mentored and trained myself to the mentoring I’ve done to those I’ve supervised in their career development, including acting as an advisor to graduate students. I am passionate about science and enjoy tutoring all aspects of Biology along with Chemistry. I know the value of critical thinking, writing, and communication that is needed to be successful in school and beyond. As a member of the first generation in my family to go to college, I realized that this will be my gateway to explore what I wanted in my life. While attending CUNY, nothing intrigued me more than the chemical aspects of human anatomy. For example, I was completely baffled by the idea how the Le-Chatelier's principle can be used to regulate the pH in our body, or how conjugation in cholesterol structure helps provide fluidity in cell membrane. Inspired by this very ability of science to explain the physiological phenomenon, I decided to major in Chemistry. During my time at Hunter, I starting tutoring incoming freshmen and sophomores during my undergraduate years. As I begun my journey as a tutor, I realized that I was extremely enthusiastic about science, and education in general. I learned that with the right tools and resources, any student can achieve their goals. I am qualified to teach biochemistry, chemistry, and Biology. I can adapt to each student's needs and cater instruction and coaching through creative ways that can achieve positive outcomes.During the summer of last year in college, I began research on the genomic evolution of Syphils disease at Weill Cornell Medical College. The research focused primarily on the comparative analysis of various genes of the Syphlis disease pathogen-Treponema Pallidum. My job as a paid-intern involved extracting various orthologs from Trep genome, and to analyze the diversification in Treponema bacteria with the help of molecular phylogenetics. Currently I am an Adjunct at CUNY Hunter, where I teach general chemistry lab course. I am also familiar with various computer languages, such as bash, PERL, SQL, and bioperl.

However, after high school I was able to live in Mexico for two years and learned to love the language.
