I understand that each individual student learns differently and I have ample experience finding resources and instructional methods to match the needs of each learner. I hold all students to the highest expectations and believe that all children are capable of success.... My philosophy is centered around the core concept of teaching children how to be problem solvers. They need to know how to approach and think about any given problem. It is okay to make mistakes, as they are learning opportunities. Persistence and confidence in oneself as a learner are the key skills to ensure success in life.

I have been working in the mathematics field on a professional level for the past seven years. After college, where I obtained my bachelor's degree in English and Creative Writing in order to gain a new, fresh perspective on liberal arts culture and the humanities, I realized...... I believe that teachers and students should be able to work together to arrive at the student's goals for academic success. It should be a process in which the student explains the areas of difficulty, and through a series of questions, the teacher gauges the student's understanding of the material. After this is achieved the teacher can help the student navigate through until the student arrives at a conclusion. I find it to be helpful when the material is presented in a relatable way. A parallel story, a familiar situation, a metaphor-- all can help the student develop a connection with the math. Whichever method works, I find it is important for the teacher to do whatever is possible to work within those parameters.

An educator that understands that each student learns differently, socializes differently, and learns at a different pace. A teacher who understands that the mission of educators and students is to collaboratively develop thoughts and minds that lead to healthy socialization, and academic success.... To be a great educator, one must know how to tailor the curriculum to the individual student. It is the educator's job to identify why some students struggle, and to then implement effective strategies to get students over their learning obstacles.
