The average American consumes an estimated 100,000 words each day in conversation, news articles, blog entries, social media posts, and more. I have devoted my academic and professional career to discovering how to use these units of communication to create the biggest impact, whether it be in my copywriting, teaching, or audio and video production.I recently completed my Master of Arts in Communication from Marquette University, where I taught over 300 students in undergraduate courses that cover the basics of applied research and visual communication. I guided my students on how to create informational or fundraising brochures for twenty-four local nonprofits. I also earned Marquette's unique Certificate in Digital Storytelling, a program that has allowed me to further explore how audio and video resources can be used to craft engaging stories for fundraising, education, or entertainment.Prior to this, I was the Communications Director for a new nonprofit, where I was able to increase online and in-person engagement through an established mailing list and social media accounts. I produced viral videos that received national media attention and responses from Senators John McCain and Jeff Flake (among other legislators). I analyzed the demographics of our most engaged members and targeted an ad campaign to a specific subset of women, increasing our Facebook followers by over 100% over the span of two months.I also served as the Public Information Assistant for the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors. In addition to my general duties managing the office and organizing events, I also wrote accessible press releases, doubled their Twitter followers, created step-by-step guides on how to use various web applications, and delivered concise news alerts to the entire county courthouse staff. I instructed other team members how to use the Hootsuite social media management system to schedule effective Facebook and Twitter posts that can be analyzed in terms of viewership and engagement.I crafted other digital campaigns during my work with Vertical Measures. I ghostwrote blog posts for a variety of clients using evolving SEO techniques and maintained a number of other lucrative blogs devoted to politics and popular culture. My experiences collaborating with diverse communities in Bulgaria and South Korea would invariably also be an asset to any organization committed to expanding its reach among various nationalities and ethnicities.

My objective for becoming a teacher is to help students to learn and grow. I wish to establish a long-term career in dedicating my time and knowledge to helping students become successful members of society. It is my goal to work with students to establish confidence in them and abilities for them to use throughout their school career and further on in life.I have studied at Saint Vincent College since 2011. I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology Education in 2015, a certification in Early Childhood Education (PreK-4) in 2016, and am currently finishing up my Masters of Science in Special Education (PreK-8) for graduation in August of 2017. I completed my student teaching at Southmoreland School District where I was introduced to Daily 5 and how to prepare students for PSSAs. I have worked one-on-one with students who have been diagnosed with Autism and other disabilities. I taught Emotional Support at a small, private school outside of Washington, Pennsylvania.I love working with children and have done so almost my entire life starting with teaching Sunday School at my church up until my recent graduation and beginning of my own teaching career as a substitute. I enjoy seeing students succeed and have fun while learning. My favorite subjects in school included Language Arts and Science. I work as a substitute teacher in three school districts near where I live.In my spare time, I enjoy being with my family and friends. I love to travel and experience new things. I believe that there are endless possibilities and new things to be discovered! I have a passion for reading books and horseback riding. I love animals, dogs and horses especially. I have two brothers, one older and one younger than me.I am married and have three Dachshund dogs, one boy and two girls. Their names are Charlie Brown, Noelle, and Chloe. I like to spend some of my free time playing with them. My world evolves around my family and friends and pursuing my dream of becoming a classroom teacher. In order to achieve my dream, I try and accomplish as many tasks as possible. It is important for me to continue to grow and learn so that I am always up to date with the way that my students learn. As a teacher, I will always be a learner because everything constantly changes.

I am a current undergraduate student at American University. I'm working my way towards a double major in International Studies and Mathematics, with a minor in Arabic with the hopes of someday pursuing a career in cryptography and cybersecurity. I tutor a wide range of subjects, since I strongly believe in the virtues of a well-rounded, versatile education. However, I prefer tutoring math and standardized test prep because I love helping students to be confident and successful in these areas. I love learning and I hold myself to the highest standards, and I hope to inspire students to push themselves and be the best that they can be. Outside of academics, I enjoy reading, running, Netflix, and food.

I am a recent graduate (Cum Laude) from Ball State University with a BA in Theatre Production Directing and two minors in Technical Theatre and Film/Screenwriting. I am currently working on a MA in Secondary Education from Ball State University as well. The subjects that I am available to tutor are Clarinet, English, Essay Editing, Writing, Pre-Algrebra, and Public SpeakingDuring three years of undergrad, I was a Teacher's Assistant for a class called Aesthetics 1 for the Department of Theatre and Dance. It is a course that every student has to take in the beginning of their freshman year and the class specializes in script analysis, theatre history, and presenting information in ways that will be understood by groups of people. I spent every semester helping my students when they did not understand the concepts of the material and the dynamic of the class, reviewed their papers and re-writes, judged their final presentations, and assisted in grading assignments with Canvas.I have spent my summers working with children as both an instructor and a youth director. It was my job to create lesson plans during the day for students in the topics of acting and analyzing a script and technical theatre. I had very little to work with but always made it a priority for the children to be enjoying themselves while we were in session. In order to reach this goal, I had to constantly change the way I went about educating them because it would not make sense to continue one method when it does not work.Even though my specialties are in reading, writing, and analysis of the written word, I also find math to be a fascinating subject. I have even found it to be close to the topics mentioned above if seen in the best light. In order to have calm in my life I write plays, complete math problems, listen to music, and bake sweets for my family. My Teaching Statement: A passionate and driven professional who strives for students to be able to think critically in and out of the classroom. Ready to allow students a safe space to freely express who they are while they are discovering this for themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

MBA builds critical thinking and problem-solving skills that apply across academics and careers. A strong foundation in MBA opens doors to advanced coursework and prepares students for standardized tests.

Many students find that success in MBA boosts their confidence in related subjects too.

Common challenges include gaps from earlier material, difficulty with specific concepts, and trouble applying what's learned to new problems. These issues compound quickly in MBA because topics build on each other.

A tutor identifies exactly where you're stuck, fills in gaps, and gives you targeted practice until the concepts click. That 1-on-1 attention makes a big difference.

Look for someone with strong MBA knowledge who can explain concepts in multiple ways until you understand. Patience and the ability to adapt to your learning style matter as much as expertise.

Varsity Tutors vets all tutors through background checks, credential review, and teaching evaluation—so you can focus on finding the right personality and teaching approach fit.

For students who are struggling, stuck, or want to excel, tutoring often pays off in better grades, stronger test scores, and reduced stress. The 1-on-1 format lets you move at your own pace and focus on what you actually need.

Many students also develop better study habits that serve them in other subjects.

Most students benefit from 1-2 sessions per week. If you're significantly behind or have a major exam coming up, more frequent sessions can help you catch up faster.

Your tutor can recommend a schedule based on your goals and timeline.

Yes—both are core parts of tutoring. Tutors help you work through challenging homework problems while teaching the underlying concepts, so you're not just getting answers but actually learning.

For exams, tutors provide targeted review, practice problems, and test-taking strategies specific to MBA.

Tutoring is typically purchased in hour packages, with rates varying by tutor experience and subject complexity. Varsity Tutors offers several package options.

You can discuss pricing during your consultation to find an option that fits your budget and goals.

Your tutor will assess where you are, discuss your goals, and start working on areas where you need the most help. Many students bring current homework or upcoming test material to focus on.

By the end of the session, you'll have a plan for moving forward and a sense of how your tutor approaches teaching MBA.
