I am currently entering my fourth year at Southern Methodist University where I am studying to attain a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a minor in Spanish. I have learned from professors who are professionals in their fields and many of which have had great impacts on the field of Economics. I spent the summer of 2014 living with a Spanish family in Madrid and taking classes as part of SMU's Advanced Spanish program in Madrid. I tutor a wide range of Math levels as well as Economics and Spanish. Through my experience as a student who used tutors in the past, I learned that the key to strengthening one's abilities in any subject is through practice and repetition. For this reason, my lessons emphasize the need for the students to engage themselves in order to take what they have learned in school, in the tutoring sessions, and on their own to successfully strengthen their knowledge. I'm a senior at Indiana Wesleyan University, studying Economics, Political Science, and Humanities. I'm a student of the economic way of thinking and an aspiring teacher of the same, hopefully in a university setting someday. Currently, I attend Victor Senior High and will begin my education at Tulane University in the fall, studying both biomedical engineering and computer science. My past experiences tutoring both younger students and peers allow me to develop a unique approach to help students facing any type of challenge in their subject area. I personally enjoy tutoring math and science, and they have both become passions that I will continue to pursue in my education. I believe a strong foundation in both areas is fundamental in scholastic success, so I often break down subjects to their roots in order to help a student succeed from the ground level up to most advanced topics.Additionally, I enjoy tutoring ACT/SAT preparation, because I believe the right foundation and study tactics can make all the difference in performance on both of these exams, ideally saving students hours of studying material that may be repetitive or unnecessary. My tutoring style is very flexible, as I aim to discover how each student learns and cater to their unique style. I'm always up for the challenge of changing my methods of instruction and breaking down topics to foster a deeper understanding of a subject.
