It would be my honor to serve you by helping guide you through your coursework! I got into nursing because I love to care for others, which is why I am here to tutor. Helping others grow in their knowledge is my passion! Here are some of my credentials and experiences. I graduated from Liberty University's School of Nursing in 2019. I received multiple Dean's List recognition awards while in the program. I graduated Cum Laude with a 3.5 GPA. I have certifications in: TNCC, Trauma Nurse Certified, CPI, ACLS, and PALS. Since graduating, I have worked in acute care, emergency department, ICU, COVID ICU, and pediatric urgent care settings. This has provided me with a deep understanding of many different areas of nursing. While in school, I tutored nursing students in Pathophysiology, and during those sessions, my love for tutoring was sparked. I specialize in NCLEX-RN prep coursework and have helped many students succeed in passing the NCLEX their first time. Currently, I am pursuing my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy to incorporate into psychiatric nursing.

I tutored in various capacities throughout college: leading review sessions for college Calculus and working one-one-one with middle and high school students. I have served as a tutor through VT for over a year now. I tutor a wide range of subjects: science (biology, physics, and chemistry), math (from algebra through college calculus), AP test-prep (math and science), and entrance exams (HSPT, ACT, and SAT, MCAT). I work with all levels of students, ranging from middle schoolers through college students. My goal as a tutor is to understand each student's unique learning style and goals, and tailor lessons to best fit those strengths. I take pride in clearly breaking down concepts and building students, confidence in their abilities. In my free time, I enjoy running, reading, softball, and generally being outdoors.

Theatre is so much more, than plays or musicals, and I believe experiencing it as an art form is essential for children to thrive. I believe in teaching the whole child, and that includes; social skills, building confidence, collaboration, thinking outside of the box, creativity, and imagination. These are all things theatre has been proven to do. Children ages 4-18 are ready to learn, create, grow and imagine if only given the chance. I aim to create a space for them to do just that. There are many reasons I value theatre, one is the proven statistics that arts and theatre education raises test scores, creates higher capacity for cognitive thinking, and improves mood and focus. But more importantly, theatre education gives children confidence and freedom. It lets imaginations run wild long after its time to "grow up".I wish to teach because I want to inspire as many children as I can to play, imagine, and create. I hope to teach children how to dream big and shoot for the stars. I long for children to grow up with a sense of wonder and self-worth. I desire that all children know how beautiful and special they are for their own unique talents. I need children to know they are so much more than a number on a page. These values are important to me because children are important to me.Children deserve the opportunity to be themselves without judgement or fear. My priority will always be my students. My job is to create a great experience for them, and my evaluations will be based on how each project goes. I would offer the opportunity for families and students to fill out a survey or evaluation at the end of each project and semester so that I can learn what is working for my students individually. This will also help in my reflection process as I decide if I should or should not reuse these lessons. I would also invoke an open door policy to model the environment of inclusion, and positive collaboration. In addition to modeling what I expect, my students can expect a reliable, trustworthy teacher who genuinely loves what they do. They can expect a detailed, well-planned year with high expectations for success. I believe that every student can be successful. Everyone can learn, and grow with the right combination of light, water, and soil. However, if we are constantly asking fish to climb trees- we will never allow them to show us how capable they are of swimming. This is where student centered instruction and project based learning becomes extremely important. By differentiating based on your students' needs and allowing them the opportunity to show you how they learn best, they will excel. Build respect and rapport, listen to your students, let them tell you what they need. Children are so much more capable than we give them credit for. I am not of the mind that my students should go off and do whatever they wish. But I sure am of the mind that when my student wants to rap her final instead of give a presentation, because that's how she feels she can best succeed, that she should go ahead and soar!My passion for this work lies so deep within me, I do not know where it begins or ends. I work hard, and I go after what I want with determination and confidence. I hope that in leading by example I can instill these as traits and expectations in my classroom. These traits will serve my students long after leaving the safety of my four walls. I believe that this work is very important. I will never get tired of seeing a child's eyes filled with excitement after a performance. Watching a student's confidence grow, seeing pride fill their entire body after working hard on a new challenge. These little moments are what educating is all about, because they are the biggest most important moments of all. If I can help one student who needs theatre, then I will have done my job.

I hold a bachelor's and master's in art history, with a concentration in early modern European art. I attended THE Ohio State University for my undergraduate degree, and attended Southern Methodist University for my master's. During my time as a master's student, I was a teaching assistant to four different undergraduate art history courses, and spent a significant amount of time teaching, grading, and holding office hours with my students. To simply put my tutoring style: I am a lover of learning. Learning new things myself, and helping others to learn, are life-affirming experiences for me. Knowledge is joyful, and powerful! I want my students to walk away from our sessions feeling similarly.I have begun tutoring for those studying the LSAT and would love to continue to take on LSAT learners. Contrary to what you have learned from major LSAT teaching companies, the LSAT is simple and straightforward: there is one correct answer, and four wrong ones. Slow reading and a careful approach to understanding every stimulus are keys to LSAT success, and I want to help you get there! After beginning at a 154, I have practiced into the 170's, and am still taking the LSAT myself to have that reflected in my actual score.I would also love to spend some of my time with my LSAT students on their admissions applications. I have received a full ride, or more, in scholarships for each degree I have received, and I can help you achieve that same financial success with your law school application. I hope to hear from you and can't wait to help you on your law school journey!

I am a student and life-long learner who is currently between undergraduate and graduate school. In May 2015, I received a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Neuroscience and Biology from Centre College, and in September 2015, I will attend The Ohio State University to work towards a PhD in neuroscience. Throughout my academic journey, I have been guided by incredible teachers who have served as friends, mentors, and role models. I see teaching as a way to give back to my role models by passing down their knowledge to future generations of students. My well-rounded liberal arts education qualifies me to tutor a variety of subjects including algebra, biology, psychology, reading, and writing. As a neuroscience and biology double-major, I have an especially strong background in psychology and biology; however, I am also passionate about reading and writing as aptitude in these subjects forms the foundation of effective communication and comprehension of all other subjects. My teaching philosophy emphasizes individual learning and personal attention. I graduated from a small college where this philosophy is considered paramount, and by working as a teaching assistant there, I developed my skills as a teacher capable of providing a personalized education. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, reading poetry and fiction, hiking, and training for my first marathon.

I am a working artist with over ten years of professional experience, on top of teaching in several different capacities for seven of them. I love working with students on a one-on-one basis, and use a warm, humorous approach to put students at ease and take the pressure off them so that they can learn without feeling stressed. I believe there is a solution to every problem, and there is no right way to learn something. People learn in different ways, it's just a manner of finding what's best for the student.
