Hi there! Im a student at Wayne State University in Detroit, pursuing a degree in psychology with concentrations in public health and Spanish. I have over seven years of tutoring experience in an array of subjects. I'm incredibly excited to be a tutor and to have an impact on your learning and academic success. I grew up in a school that didn't believe in adjusting to student learning styles. I always felt like I was stupid because I struggled every year, while my classmates seemed to understand everything I couldn't! Turns out, I had undiagnosed ADHD! Now, diagnosed in my 30s, and with 3 children of my own, I work hard to advocate for creativity and student empowerment in classrooms. Learning doesn't HAVE to be a struggle! Learning SHOULD be fun! I know first hand how hard it is to try and force your brain to absorb information in ways it simply isn't designed to. So, my goal is to break that cycle, to inject positivity, hope, creativity, and passion into learning. Every student deserve the chance to learn and grow in the way that makes sense to THEM! I changed my major because I wanted a more active role helping people, which has always been my passion.I eventually began volunteering at a church teaching English to speakers of other languages and I loved it so much that I soon became a certified ESL instructor. I love teaching and helping others reach their goals and bettering their lives.I believe that education is vital in today's world.
