I teach AP English Language and high school Social Studies. My deepest passion is writing. I began tutoring English and Spanish when I was in high school and continued through college and graduate school. I have tutored grade school, high school, and college students, and love seeing the "lightbulb" moments after the weeks of hard work. During my student teaching, I worked with my U.S. History students and saw their grades improve by as much as two letter grades in a few weeks of applied practice. I graduate in 2013 from Michigan State University with a major in Psychology. After earning my degree I spent the next two years in Canton, MS as a algebra/geometry teacher with Teach For America. During my experience as a teacher and coach I have logged countless hours after school preparing students for the ACT and various math courses. In my free time I love to play soccer, basketball, hike, and go camping. I strongly believe that every child has the ability to do great things, and with our support and high expectations we can expect to see results.

I have been teaching for years and have for a long time. It is exciting to be teaching at home now. I never thought I'd enjoy it this much, but working with my dog at my feet. The world is different now, and so has my teaching style. The vibe teaching from home is different and quiet, until my kids get home from school.In addition to teaching, I'm an actor and director. This year, I'm going to be acting in THE LARAMIE PROJECT and JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT. I am a graduate of Rockford University where I completed my studies after moving from southern Alabama. While I was in Alabama I studied at the University of Mobile. I have been teaching since 2009. I have taught middle and high school. I currently teach 8th grade in Middle Tennessee. Over the past two years I have supervised the before and afterschool programs, where I also tutor in the mornings. I have been married for almost 18 years to an amazing woman. She is an entrepreneur and a number one best selling author. She also teaches children how to become business owners as well as entrepreneurs.

After excelling in Anatomy and Physiology I and II, I was hired as a tutor for my College's learning center, to help students gain an interactive understanding of class material, prepare for exams, meet their grade goals, and practice effective study techniques.Some of the abstract concepts covered in Anatomy and Physiology can be confusing, especially since they are only layered on top of each other in subsequent chapters. However, through visualizing the "story" of each seemingly abstract concept, and connecting each piece of information to each other, everything truly begins to make more sense - and it even allows one to garner an excitement for the subject (and for our own anatomical bodies!). So, in a sense, we're lucky that we're learning about something so tangible (our body) -- allowing us to consistently remember how these abstract concepts are real and occurring within us at any given moment.If you're having trouble grasping Anatomy and Physiology concepts (of if you're just looking to get ahead in your class) - I'd love to work with you.
