I enjoy helping struggling students overcome their academic challenges and improving their overall academic self confidence and overcoming obstacles. I enjoy showing students how their personal interests can be tied to the subject at hand and help them see how it is important to their real life, and not just about the grade. I find this helps to spark a true interest in understanding of the subject, thus inspiring their inner desire to learn! I am a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with my Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a focus on Greenhouse Management and Production and a minor in Psychology. Currently I am a substitute teacher for K-8 in all subject areas, including children with special needs. I work with students of various ages, abilities and disabilities. Previously, I have tutored students in all subject areas, as well as adults in preparation of successfully taking their GED, specializing in mathematics. I have also worked with adults to improve their English as an ESL instructor. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I specialize in math and science. In my spare time I have many interests including; sustainable gardening and food production, outdoor recreation, art, and reading non-fiction.
