Passion and patience are what drive me to help students achieve their goals. I work as a teacher at a prestigious private high school in New York City and enjoy helping students reach the pinnacle of their ability in math and physics. I have a B.S. in Physics from the California Institute of Technology and a M.A. in Mathematics Education from Bard College. I am also a certified teacher in 7-12 Mathematics and I have over 7 years experience tutoring and teaching. I specialize in helping high school students students gain the important critical thinking skills they would need to succeed in Ivy League schools and other highly competitive universities. I have considerable experience preparing students in all the major standardized test (SAT, SAT 2, ACT, and AP).

Having taught Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus, I understand the conceptual pitfalls and misconceptions that can arise in these courses. My approach is to help students strategize a solution so that they understand problems from basic principles, not rote memorization. I teach students how to classify problems and what tools and techniques are best for solving problems in those categories. I love having the opportunity to impart both my knowledge and enthusiasm to students striving to be successful. I look forward to helping you meet your goal!
