I tutored students from a variety of academic backgrounds at my previous university, primarily in quantitative methods like Applied Statistics. Although Statistics is my favorite subject to tutor, I also very much enjoy other math topics like Calculus and Algebra, as well as writing and Psychology. I take a foundational approach to tutoring by focusing on the individual building blocks of a topic; I identify which of those building blocks a student is comfortable with and which we should work on together. Once those building blocks are established, we can more easily transition into the next levels of the topic. Most importantly, I work with a student to create a plan tailored to their individual learning style and needs. When I am not studying or tutoring, I like to spend my time reading, hiking, exploring the sights in Arizona, traveling, and visiting my family back home in the Pacific Northwest!
