I received my Bachelor of Arts from Willamette University in Biology with minors in Physics and Spanish. I have taught several basic biology and aquatic microbiology classes to middle and high schoolers, as well as mentored high school and undergraduate interns on independent research projects. Microbiology is my favorite subject to tutor, as it is always a joy to see students discover this unseen world that exists right under our nose! My teaching philosophy is to present the subject to my students in a way that places the knowledge into a context that is relevant for them and to lead them through complex concepts with real world examples. In my free time, I like being active and enjoying all that Oregon has to offer, whether it be running, swimming, hiking, or camping with my dogs and am currently training for my first triathlon!
