Hello!I am a graduate of University of Illinois with a Master's in Entomology (study of insects) and University of Connecticut in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. I've been involved in research of how unnamed species are related to one another using DNA sequencing of genes (called systematics) for my undergraduate and graduate career, and hence I am very strong in biology, genetics, microbiology and ecology. My passion in science lies in the implementation of modern DNA sequencing technology to study genes and genomes, especially to advance the field of medicine.I have experience tutoring students through the National Science Foundation's Research Experience for Undergraduates program, and I also served for approximately a year as a tutor for Parkland Community College in Champaign, IL, teaching anatomy and physiology, microbiology, general biology, and algebra.I hope to help students with a wide variety of subjects in science and math, especially biology and genetics!

For the past few years now, I have gained an extensive amount of experience teaching science in a variety of classroom settings. I am currently an undergraduate of Endicott College working towards my Bachelor of Science in Biology/Biotechnology. Hello! My name is Matthew Robichaux, but you can call me Matt. I was born and raised in New Hampshire, but now I live in the beautiful sunshine state, Florida! My love for teaching comes from my mother, who has taught under privileged youth at the same school for over twenty years. I double majored in History and American Studies at Eckerd College and graduated in 2021. I am currently working towards my license to teach with the intention of teaching at a local school in my area. I can't wait to use this opportunity at Varsity Tutors to help students advance their education and reach their goals!

I received a B.A. in Environmental Science and Policy at California State University Long Beach in 2009. I began my graduate studies in 2011 where I also taught undergraduate students for a year in courses pertaining to environmental sustainability and climate change. As part of my graduate program I went from 2012-2014 to Peace Corps in Mexico helping with water projects. In June 2015 I completed my M.S. in Environmental Studies from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. Since 2015, I work at the Environmental Protection Agency and continue to volunteer with a nonprofit, Mariposas, that helps young women in Mexico. Outside of my work, I enjoy water sports, running, and music. I love science and Spanish and hope to share my enthusiasm with students!

I have ample experience in tutoring and working with children ranging from preschool to 12th grade. Through the Bev Hickman Writing Center at Catonsville High School, I received a full school year's worth of intense writing tutoring training, including AP essays, college applications, cover letters, resumes, and other class assignments. I have also gained experience in childcare through Trinity Summer Camp, where I worked as a counselor for ages 3.5 to 5 for 7 weeks; we focused on creating an enriching environment for education and fun, managing a wide array of behaviors and personalities.As of last semester, I am volunteering with Keep It Real at the University of Pittsburgh. This organization places college students in refugee/in-need communities to tutor students K-12. I am currently tutoring in the Northview Heights Somali-Bantu refugee community with elementary aged children.I have online tutoring experience winter of 2020-2021 through School Simplified, an all online platform to provide tutoring to middle and high school students worldwide. My tutoring foci are English/Writing K-12, Math in levels up to Geometry, and ACT/SAT prep emphasizing Reading, English, and Writing sections. I am also interested in tutoring Conversational Spanish at a beginner level.In my free time, I am an avid live music enjoyer! I also spend as much time with my friends and family outdoors, whether that is exploring the city of Pittsburgh, trying new foods, or going on a walk around campus.

I am a recent graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelors of Science and Engineering (BSE) in Chemical Engineering. I was selected as the outstanding graduate for the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering and have extensive math, physics, and writing experience. I recently applied and was accepted to many top-ten PhD programs for engineering because of academic merit and personal statement writing skills. I will be attending the University of Texas at Austin in the fall.I have tutoring experience in most math subjects through the National Honors Society and have been a teaching assistant in higher-level engineering courses such as thermodynamics, chemical processing, and lab courses. As a lab teaching assistant I have a high level of experience with technical writing help. I have also been a teaching assistant for a humanities course, The Human Event. This class was focused on analyzing literature and communicating ideas through writing essays.I am a motivated student who loves helping others. I am looking forward to working with students and helping them to succeed.

I am an electrical engineer from Brooklyn, New York. I possess a bachelor's degree (CUNY) and master's degree (NYU) in electrical engineering and specialize in power systems. I would like to share with you all of my problem solving knowledge I have acquired and develop you into a productive and confident student.Many students suffer from anxiety when dealing with math and physics and then decide to want nothing to do with these subjects. They feel like they don't have the mind to understand mathematical concepts. But I tell you that you have the potential and mental capacity to learn the math and physics you need to excel in your courses, pass your exams and move on with your life.Understanding math and physics is a matter of first discovering in which areas of the concepts are your weakness and then strengthen your understanding in these areas and move forward. I can help you understand concepts you are having difficulty with and develop you into a productive and confident problem solver.
