My belief is that all students of all levels and types are capable of learning. It is just a matter of putting in the effort and taking the correct approach. In some cases it is a matter of putting together a series of small victories and gains before reaching the ultimate goal, but all students can get there!

I am a graduate of The College of New Jersey, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology and Secondary Education. I teach high school biology at Passaic Academy for Science and Engineering. I tutor biology, ranging from middle school to college level. I strongly believe in the importance of a science education which stresses more than just memorization of information; science is a way of thinking which should promote inquiry and problem solving. In my spare time, I enjoy crocheting, swimming, and playing with my puppy.

Hi! I am Juliana, and I am a first year MBA student at Tulane University. I attended Northwestern University as an undergraduate, where I began tutoring and editing essays at the university writing center. I love finding new ways to dissect concepts and communicate knowledge across an array of different learning styles. To this day, I even pick up choreography and dance instructor jobs when my schedule allows, because I love teaching! :)When I am not studying or attending class, I enjoy reading, practicing yoga, listening to music, and discovering fun recipes (lots of Cajun food) to cook at home!Let's work together. I will be attending Brown University in the fall, where I will be studying public health. Having recently graduated from high school, I am very familiar with both the information and strategies required to succeed in standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, SAT Subject Tests, PSAT, and AP Exams. By self-study only, I made perfect scores on my first try on 8 AP Exams, SAT, and 2 SAT Subject Tests, as well as a 35 on the ACT. I know that a self-motivated student can achieve great success if they are motivated and organized in their study approach. I have been tutoring for four years, in areas from the sciences to test prep to language arts.As a tutor, I prefer to individually tailor study plans to a student's needs, and am adaptable in both the pace and approach we take to learning the material. My goal is to eventually prepare each student to a level at which they can succeed independently in the future.

I am currently a senior at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and I am double majoring in Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development and French. I am pre-med, so I do hope to go to medical school next year and am currently in the process of applying. I graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 2012, and there I was a member of the National Honors Society which was my first experience with tutoring. I am currently a volunteer at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, and I help patients and siblings with homework and reading there, as well.I am passionate about the life sciences and the French language, and I love helping others foster a deeper understanding in these two particular subjects! I also genuinely enjoy algebra and statistics and am quite the grammarian. From preschool to college, I actually loved going to school every day and learning, and I hope to bring that love to others, also! I spent the fall of 2014 in Montpellier, France, and there I worked on mastering the French language. When I am not studying, you can find me doing a puzzle, baking, reading, going for a walk, or watching the Blackhawks and the White Sox.

I am a sophomore electrical engineering student and member of the honors college at Virginia Commonwealth University. I recently graduated from Maggie L. Walker Governor's School in June of 2017. I have a passion for mathematics, especially calculus, and am excited to share my knowledge with others.

As a former long-time teacher of both French and Spanish, I believe every person can learn a foreign language. I have taught all levels, from preschoolers through adult language learners in college, and have a wide variety of techniques and resources at my disposal to help students master skills and concepts. For me, it's the relationships I form with my students that matter the most; I like to build lessons around my students' needs and interests to keep them engaged in the lessons and to show them how they can use their new language for self-expression and in everyday life. I have several philosophies I follow when working with students: I stress focusing on strengths instead of concentrating on weaknesses, rewarding the effort instead of the outcome, and sticking by my students by being their biggest cheerleader.I was very fortunate to graduate with an MA in French and a BS in Foreign Language Education from UW-Madison. During my graduate work I met my husband, then a graduate student in French, and we've had a wonderful life speaking French at home, traveling to French-speaking countries and raising our daughter bilingual French-English. As I am also a former Spanish teacher, living in Texas is like a dream - it's so easy to speak and learn Spanish in the Dallas-Fort Worth area (although I hear quite a bit of French here, too!) Any French or Spanish students are bound to find ample opportunities to practice their new language skills.

I'm currently a banker at SunTrust. Before banking, I was a middle grades math teacher with the Savannah Chatham County Public Schools. I taught gifted 7th and 8th graders. Furthermore, I was also a math teacher for our school's after school programs Twilight and 21st Century. During my time as a math teacher (2009 to 2012), I was the department grade level chair, and I led my grade level on student performances for quarterly assessments and the CRCT. Moreover, I also have experience in lecturing high school students on Political Science, Macroeconomics, US Government, International Comparative Government, Business, Finance, and Current Events.I'm a world traveler, and enjoy immersing myself in different cultures.

I am a certified elementary and ESL teacher committed to my students and their learning. I am passionate about teaching and love finding new ways to help my students.I became an ESL teacher as a result of my own personal interest in languages and linguistics. I have studied several languages extensively and am fluent in Spanish.
