About Me

I am a certified early-education teacher (Preschool-G3) with 9+ years of experience teaching. My Masters Degree is in Reading Education (K-12) and I am TEFL certified as well. I received both my Bachelors and Masters degree from Ohio University and since then I have worked with every age level from 2 years and up, whether it be in the classroom or private classes and can teach a variety of subject matter. With a background in Fine Arts I love to incorporate the arts into my teaching whenever I can. Ive always had a passion for teaching and helping others learn and grow, as I myself am a lifelong learner, always striving to better educate myself. I find joy in the little moments, guiding students to discover their potential and self-worth. I tutor all subjects, and I especially enjoy tutoring reading and writing. The foundation to language and being able to express oneself is essential for success in the long run. I believe that the classroom should always be a place where the students feel comfortable to be themselves and ask questions. Curiosity is the key to growing and I try to create opportunities in which students can discover new interests and lead their own journeys, in which I am just there to guide them. Outside of teaching, I enjoy being outdoors- hiking, traveling, playing sports, yoga. I am passionate about the environment and sustainable living. I love expression through art and photography, as well as reading a good book or watching an independent film. I love to meet new people and believe that everybody you cross paths with teaches you something.
