About Me

I dreamed of being a teacher when I was a third grader. Working with kids and families has been my lifelong passion. I have 20 years of experience as a classroom teacher in grades K-6, with the majority of time spent teaching 4th & 5th grade. I have been at the same elementary school for 18 years and currently teach 2nd grade. I love working with diverse student populations and reluctant learners. I believe all students can learn and have experience using a variety of instructional practices, with an emphasis on intervention strategies. Building warm, caring relationships, working with joy, and holding high expectations using a strengths based approach are the foundation for my work with students.
