I am a former junior high and high school teacher, with undergraduate degrees in English and Spanish and a Master's degree in Education. I have a distinct passion for helping students perform beyond their perceived potential, so that they are able to thrive within their educational environments. My objective as both teacher and tutor, is to first identify the root cause(s) of any confusion or difficulty, and then to develop a method, suited to the needs of the individual student, for reconstructing understanding in a way that makes sense. Furthermore, my intention is always to instruct with sustainability in mind, so that regardless of how a classroom teacher might present a concept, a student will be able to apply what was learned during our time together. If your student is struggling in any way with writing, critical thinking, literary analysis, or reading comprehension at the middle or high school level, I am confident in my ability to help them overcome those hurdles and build sustainable confidence.
