About Me

I am currently a math tutor in the Portland metro area, working with underprivileged and at-risk youth. I teach supplemental algebra classes as well as help students prepare to pass the GED test and earn credit recovery. I have a Masters in Geological Sciences from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from Bryn Mawr College. As a masters student, I taught environmental science labs and helped to curate science curriculum for elementary and middle-school teachers. Although my speciality lies in earth sciences, I have attained an extensive math, physics, chemistry, and english background throughout my studies. My philosophy is to work smarter, not harder! I love to teach students how to build a framework to efficiently learn the subject material, which reduces anxiety and makes their goal more attainable. In my free time I enjoy hiking and looking at rocks! I love music and try to go to as many shows as possible and messing around on instruments of all types.
