As a teacher as well as a parent, my top priority is helping students of all ages believe that they are successful and competent learners. I just finished my sixth year of teaching Preschool and many of my favorite lessons are those held one on one wherein I can truly get to know the students skills and challenges and create an individual plan for learning. I graduated from Central Michigan University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I have maintained my certification in All Subjects for Elementary School as well as my endorsements for Early Childhood Education and Language Arts Grades 6-8 in Michigan. I am currently working toward a Master of Arts in Education in Teaching English as a Second Language at Aquinas College. I consider myself a life-long learner and am excited to get started with Varsity Tutors. I am open to tutoring a wide range of subjects and levels as each brings a unique set of challenges and rewards. In my free time, I am an avid reader of both fiction and nonfiction texts and enjoy kayaking with my son and spending time outdoor with our dogs.
