I believe that in order to be an effective teacher, you must have a great understanding of the subject matter being taught. A teacher must be able to make good choices on what to teach as well as what is the best way to teach in order for everyone to understand it. In order to become a great teacher, you must get to know your students. We must be aware of what students know when they come to our classroom as well as how to tap into that knowledge and build on it.
