About Me

It has been said that, If you can't explain something simply, you don't know it well enough. In my experience as a longtime student, I have found this quote to be accurate. My strength as a tutor is that I have the ability to break down complex ideas and language into as simple a package as possible. Both as a successful student and in teaching I have found myself to be adept at using this particular skill. I graduated from Allegheny College with a BA in English and a minor in Economics. I have always enjoyed learning and have a passion for sharing my knowledge with others. As an tutor, my favorite subjects to teach are Algebra and English. I consider those skills to be the building blocks of a solid academic foundation for High School and beyond. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading whenever possible, especially fantasy and science fiction novels. I also am an avid board game player, from Chess to Settlers of Catan.
