The reason students tend to struggle is because the information has not be presented in a way that they can understand. As a tutor, my job is to recognize when the student is struggling. This allows me to adjust my teaching and ask different questions to gauge their understanding. I am also a huge advocate for active learning. Just reading or looking at the information is not enough to gain a grasp on the information. Through the use of recall, active work, and student-given explanations, I help the students become more confident in the work. They will feel more prepared for tests and every day class assignments.
