In that time, I have experienced the incredible success that all students can have with individualized and properly scaffolded instruction first-hand. My teaching experiences have been varied across all departments. I have partnered with several different co-teachers in an ICT environment in the English and Math departments. I have also taught pull-out interventions for literacy, along with writing and conducting testing for Individualized Education Plans. I have received comprehensive training to prepare our students for standardized state assessments, as well as integrating our curriculum with Common Core Learning Standards. In addition, I initiated several after-school clubs to fill in the gaps in elective offerings, such as theater and culinary arts. I thrive in an environment where I can pull from current events and popular culture to create a dynamic classroom environment. This also involves equipping them with the right strategies to access complicated texts, or helping them internalize the steps to break down a complex math problem. Above all, I have aspired to create an accepting and positive environment, so all students feel like they have a stake in their own success.

Cooking, writing, soccer, film making, video games
