About Me

I am currently a first grade teacher in Philadelphia. I have been teaching for 5 years and have also taught sixth grade. I am a graduate of Shippensburg University. I received my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics. I also received my Masters in Education with a Reading Specialist Certification from Cabrini College. I am certified in Middle Years Mathematics and English as a Second Language (ESL) as well. I have been tutoring for about 4 years and have tutored from Pre-K to fourth grade. I tutor a broad range of subjects, but am most passionate about Reading, Phonics, and Mathematics. I strongly believe in a hands-on approach to teaching and learning. I also think it is best to identify the learning style of the students to make sure that they understand the material on a deeper level. My interests, outside of teaching and tutoring, include cooking, music, sports (especially baseball and football), and going to the beach.
