About Me

I am most passionate about middle- and elementary school-level mathematics, English language arts, and science because the concepts are dynamic and relational. The diversity of the material allows students to make meaningful connections to the content, cultivating long-lasting understandings of the material. While tutoring, I tend to follow an inquiry-based model wherein students are consistently questioned throughout the tutoring process. While providing the students with meaningful resources that are tailored to their specific needs and learning styles, I attempt to create connections between the content, process, and student. Because students tend to struggle in mathematics and science, I enjoy making these concepts transparent, fun, easy to understand and remember. When I am not teaching or tutoring, I enjoy coaching my middle school Step and Basketball Teams, in addition to taking these students on trips and retreats. With your child's specific learning needs as the foundation of my platform, I hope to establish a professional and meaningful environment conducive to your child's academic and social success.
