About Me

I am a graduate of Temple University. My Bachelor of Arts is in Geography & Urban Studies and Environmental Studies. Before moving to Philadelphia to attend college, I took a gap year to travel and work on organic farms in New Zealand. There, I developed a passion for food and environmental justice that has driven me to work on community gardens in the city. I have worked extensively with youth of all ages to develop their reading, writing and leadership skills in after school programs and through service learning projects. I strongly believe that young people have the power to change the world, and one of the best tools they have to do so is through their writing. I love working with others to crafts their thoughts into an effective piece of writing, whether it is a college essay, a research paper, or the Writing portion of the SAT or ACT. My coursework in English and literacy tutoring experience has also prepared me to tutor students in Literature, Critical Reading, English, and the humanities. I think reading and writing are important parts of a healthy diet, especially for people with a variety of other interests. In my spare time, I play the fiddle, go on long bike rides, garden and keep bees.
