I am an award-winning writer with 14 professionally-published stories, and I’m currently working on my third novel. I love to read epic fantasy novels like Lord of the Rings, but I also love any writing that’s well-crafted or makes you think, like Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 or Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird.

I am also certified to prepare students to take the College Board's AP French Language and Culture exam. My AP students have consistently earned 4s and 5s on this rigorous test. My favorite thing about teaching French is to meet a student with no knowledge of French and watch her/him go on to study in France, become fluent in the language and then take a degree in it. I love to inspire.

I'm another life long learner. I strive to assist learning in social encounters. Growing up with a family of school teachers and public school professional development figures, I have developed an interest in tutoring, research, and writing. After tutoring for about two years with Upward Bound and years of part time work with the educational development organization ALCA, I am now researching and writing a book on online political discourse, and wish to work improving my ability to help others.

I am currently a Senior at the University of Oklahoma. I am majoring in Spanish and Political Science, with a minor in Philosophy. I am also a member of the Honors College. I am so excited to share that I have been accepted to attend OU Law, and will be beginning classes in June 2019! In my free time, I love to dance salsa and bachata, figure skate, and travel. I am a member of a book club, visit all types of museums, attend plays, and concerts. Another interest, antique shopping, whereas, I learn more about the item's origins and history. When spring arrives, I love to garden. Spring represents rebirth after a long winter and I love to dig in the dirt and plants flowers to watch them flourish just like watching students flourish with their lessons and education.

I am enthusiastic about education and I am a nerd for history, politics, and current events. In high school, surprisingly, my favorite subject was math, and I always thought I was going to be a math teacher. College, however, changed my mind when I fell in love with a Colonial History course and it changed my outlook on my future in education. I want to teach my students to be good citizens and to be successful in everything they do in life.

I am a graduate of The University Of Maryland (with a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries Management) and of Fuller Theological Seminary (with a Master of Arts in Theology). For the past 37 years, I have devoted my life to Christian service among the poor and diverse communities in Guatemala, California, and Oklahoma City.
