Statistics Tutoring review by Richelle in Washtenaw County, MI
The student wanted help with homework on finding confidence intervals for means and proportions. We also needed to calculate standard error and margin of error, determine critical z and t values, and draw conclusions based on the results of the CI's.

Today we looked over past assignments of the student's where he got a few problems wrong. We were able to discuss residual plots and how to answer some of those questions and also talked about types of sampling and biases. He will contact me when he would like to meet for another session.

Statistics Tutoring review by Jennifer in Washtenaw County, MI
Today, the student and I continued working with hypotheses tests and sampling distributions. We went over how to calculate z-scores for single draws from a population as well as for possible sample means for a sample of a given size, n. We discussed how the standard error is smaller than the standard deviation so that the possible values for the sample mean are smaller than the possible values for the random variable X. We discussed the sampling distribution for p hat, and completed a hypothesis test dealing with a population proportion. We focused on working problems and reviewing concepts as we went along. I gave the student some tips about how to use the symmetry of the normal distribution to calculate probabilities and p-values. The more practice she gets, the more comfortable she feels with the material.

Today, the student and I reviewed exercises on identifying the type of variables; mean, median, and mode; and building a frequency distribution. She has some more frequency distributions to practice before our next session.

Statistics Tutoring review by Nicholas in Washtenaw County, MI
Today, the student and I spent the first half hour reviewing topics for his upcoming statistics exam; we paid particular attention to normal distributions and probability density functions. He showed clear mastery of the probability; however, he struggled slightly with normal distributions, which we will continue working on moving forward. After statistics, we continued reviewing topics in Economics for his first test coming up. He showed a good deal of comfort with the material. Next session, we will be reviewing regression analysis on the graphic calculator.

Statistics Tutoring review by Noah in Washtenaw County, MI
Today, the student and I worked on geometric distribution function, double integrals, limits of integration, and joint density function. He was positive and motivated throughout the session. I would suggest that he do practice problems so that he has these concepts down to a tee.
