I'm a former teacher but I'm very easy going. I graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Masters in Computational Sciences. While there, I gained a lot of tutoring experience through my assistantship with them. I can cover a wide range of Math topics from Algebra, Pre-Cal, Calculus, Trig, Geometry, and Statistics. If you're stuck on a concept, I'll do my best to figure out where you're stuck and try to fill in the gaps of your foundation so you can be better prepared for later material.Outside of academics, I'm a bit of a nerd, choosing video games and anime to spend my spare time. I've also recently taken up archery and programming.

Math is my forte. I've gotten A's in Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, College Algebra (MAC1105), Precalculus, AP Calculus AB, Calculus II (MAC2312), Calculus III (MAC2313). I would be most comfortable tutoring up to AP Calculus AB.My goal is to make students feel comfortable with the material. Hopefully after each tutoring session, your confidence can grow (maybe even to the point where you can tutor your peers, haha). I will do my best to explain/show my steps clearly and address any questions you may have. Additionally, if there is something you are interested in that can be applied in the tutoring session to aid in digesting the content, I will try to incorporate it as well.I'm also double majoring in Economics and Statistics.

Hello. I am a graduate of multiple STEM programs and have a passion for lifelong learning and helping others along the way.I first graduated with a B.Sc. Chemistry (minor Physics) from the University of Calgary where I also completed an M.Eng. in Geomatics Engineering focussing on digital signal processing of 2D remote sensing images as well as seismic geophysical data. I have also worked in the electronics field for two years having completed an electronics diploma at SAIT but was spurred on by interests in antenna radiation patterns that led me to a data processing positioning using InSAR technology later in life. I also graduated summa cum laude in civil engineering from the University of Ottawa with a minor in computing technology (management option) but also took options in biology and chemistry to go along with environmental engineering, fluid dynamics, statics, strength of materials and engineering math courses. I then went on to pursue a Masters in civil engineering at Carleton (in progress) where I am analyzing SAR data to detect ground movement above aquifers but also gained an outstanding teaching assistant nomination at the same time while completing a certificate in teaching methods specifically related to how students are motivated to learn in online environments. I worked six semesters as a teaching assistant and consider it to be the most rewarding employment that I have been involved with; I love helping students learn and make the most of their education while balancing all of life's busy requirements. All that is to say that I am dedicated to understanding the student from many different backgrounds and learning styles and helping them on their journey seeing them succeed.

I love to teach one-on-one because progress happens quickly and I get to share my passions for the subjects that I teach. I like to have sessions that are not pressured or intense, but I do like to cover as much material as we can fit in. I have a passion for math and other subjects that I love to share and have plenty of tricks I can share with you to make your academic life easier. I look forward to working with you!

A lifelong learner, my heroes have always been my teachers. Now my goal is to be that person for today's students. I returned to school after a business career and earned my PhD. For the past 5 years, teaching and tutoring math and statistics students within the Minnesota State colleges and universities system has been both challenging and satisfying. Helping students overcome their math frustration is a highlight. These subjects are not for everyone. However, it seems reasonable that successful learning comes when tutoring complements individual interests and educational goals. Some people aspire to win an Olympic medal; scientific minds would like a Nobel Prize; and those who like more drama, seek an Academy Award. Graduation is our ultimate goal as it helps advance an improved quality of life. Looking forward to working with you during a successful school year.

I began working as a tutor in High School as part of the Math Club, and then continued in college in a part time position, where I helped students in College Algebra, Statistics, Calculus and Programming. After college I moved to Spain where I gave private test prep lessons to high school students and also helped friends prepare for their college entrance exams. By using my broad background in these subjects I can help students see concepts in different ways, and by enthusiastically approaching problems I can help increase the student’s interest. When I am not working or studying for Actuarial Exams, I play guitar, exercise and write computer programs.

Learning is one of the most rewarding, useful, and fun things that a person can do. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students complete assigned tasks and get good grades, but also to understand why the material is important and how it can help them in life. If I can help a student to be motivated to learn, aspire to fulfill meaningful goals, and give them the tools they need to reach those goals, then I will consider the time that I have spent with them as a success.I graduated from University at Buffalo with a B.A. in Math and Economics and an M.S. in Economics with an advanced certificate in Finance. I now work at M&T Bank as a Credit Analyst. I aspire to start my own business next year.I try to put effort into improving at everything that I do because I believe that anything worth doing is worth doing well. Some of my life achievements include, being an all county 1st singles player on my high school tennis team, improving my max bench press by 35lbs in 3 months, running a marathon, climbing a mountain, clearing a 40 feet long ski jump, ranking in the top 10 players in upstate NY in a video game, getting a job in my field immediately after college, being chosen to lead a project at work even though I am one of the newest people there, completing 3 college degrees in 5 years with a high GPA, working at least part time every year since I was in 10th grade, and ranking 1st every week in location accuracy and pulls per week as a backroom team member at Target. I am currently independently learning coding through codecademy.com and freecodecamp.com and am in the process of creating my own website. These things all resulted from the common theme of focused effort and a clear mindset for improvement. Improvement happens when you try to do something, fail, figure out what you're doing wrong, and try to fix it. Everyone can improve at everything if they stay focused, adapt their improvement methods, and try again. It's never too late. Some things take more time than others, but everything is achievable. If you have an idea of what you want to accomplish in the future, start now and you'll be much more likely to get to where you want to be.

I am a graduate from the University of Pittsburgh who studied neuroscience and philosophy. I am applying to medical school to begin in Fall 2016, and tutoring to hold myself up until then. I also serve as a member of the Pittsburgh Health Corps, for which I work under the Maternal and Child Health and Chronic Disease Prevention programs of the Allegheny Health Department. As a pre-med student, I took most basic science classes; many others, I simply took out of interest. I am comfortable with tutoring in a broad range of subjects, though I hold some preference to teaching mathematics-related courses. What I do in my free-time is rarely consistent. These days, I've been trying my hand at writing a video game in Java. This is still in a very early developmental phase, but I hope to end up with an 8-bit rpg-platformer for Android. I have also been known to enjoy playing the guitar, cooking and reading philosophy, sci-fi, and comics.
