Throughout my education, I have often felt that instructors explained the concepts at too high a level because they already understood them well. This can lead students to think they are not talented at a subject when in reality they just need more in-depth explanations. I believe that, given this support, all students can succeed, even in subjects that they may initially struggle in. In my classes, I would naturally explain practice questions to my peers because I learned by teaching. One of my professors noticed this and invited me to become a teaching assistant for Linear Algebra and Differential Equations, which I have taught on and off for the past four years and I have also taught Probability and Statistics once. My areas of strength are trig, algebra, calculus and physics. The few years I spent as a director for the HYPE UWM hip hop dance team gave me the opportunity to coach a lot of different people, and not just teaching math. As a weekend warrior mechanic, I have been fixing cars for the past 10 years which has significantly strengthened my problem solving abilities. After earning my Master's, I worked in Spain as an English Teaching Assistant for a bilingual high school in Madrid over the past academic year. I had the privilege to lead classes in various subjects, namely English, History, and Art, while also giving students one-on-one attention to help with particular difficulties they were having in English.
