I passed the core subjects 4 to 8th grade certification test and completed my first year as a Content Mastery teacher. I have tutored a 5th grader before. I believe that every person has the ability to learn and should be given every opportunity to do so. This belief was what led me to get my undergraduate degree in Mathematics Education from SUNY Fredonia. I then became an educator! I taught mathematics for several years, but then left teaching in a pursuit to gain more knowledge while attending Wake Forest University and obtaining a Masters Degree in Business Administration. I have since joined the business world as a Business Analyst, but have never lost my passion for teaching mathematics. In my free time, I enjoy working out, swimming, playing guitar, and hanging out with my family.

Since graduation, I worked with a tutoring center providing one-on-one tutoring and on site classroom tutoring to students ranging from 1st grade to high school. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about anatomy and biological sciences. During my undergraduate career, I was a teaching assistant in General Chemistry and I enjoyed tutoring this subject to a large group of students in a classroom setting or online. I also enjoy teaching foreign languages including French and Arabic. I grew up learning both languages and I had a minor in French Language and Literature from Rutgers University. I was a learning coach for my brother, who has special learning challenges, during the time in which he attended virtual school. I assisted him in his day-to-day schoolwork and helped provide outside resources to ensure information retention. I am excited to share a positive learning experience with other students, and inspire a love of learning. I recently graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State University's Psychology program, with a minor in criminal justice. I have tutored students for the last 5 years in English, History, Psychology, and many other subjects. I look forward to meeting and helping your student learn!

Since graduating college I have been working as a substitute teacher, K-12 educational consultant and tutor, and middle school ELA/Speech and Debate teacher. I have found that I enjoy the teaching environment and have had measurable success through the tutoring system and Osceola School District. Throughout my time in the public schools system, both elementary and post secondary, I have always enjoyed the academic experience. I look forward to the opportunity to transfer some of my own enthusiasm to the younger generations, particularly in middle school.I have always been an avid reader and enjoyed the language arts and literature. I believe that reading and a fundamental understanding of the written languages is the most essential tool any student can have. Without a full and in depth comprehension of languages, all other subjects will necessarily suffer. By broadening the ability of a student to use and understand languages creatively, that student is better able to understand the motivations behind history, the connections in math and number theory, the practical applications of science and technology, and any other subject for which the student has an interest.Motivating a student to develop an interest in language arts should involve teaching the student the importance of language arts applications in his or her own interests. While classical applications are as important, they must be made relevant to the student. I hope that I will have the chance to inspire students to cultivate an interest in language that will further their studies in other subjects through a teaching and tutoring position. My own love of learning was strongly inspired by teachers in my own life, even in the subjects for which I was not as adept. It is my hope to be similarly inspiring to students through teaching reading and languages arts.
