I have always had a passion for knowledge which has lead me to graduate with honor from the Michigan State University's Honors College with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and spend the past two years working on a Master of Science degree in Evolution, Ecology and Organismal Biology at the Ohio State University. In addition to this lust for learning, I have always had a enjoyed sharing my knowledge with others which has lead me from informal tutoring in high school, to working as both an undergraduate and graduate teaching associate, as well as participating in and even leading a number of biological outreach events for the public. I love teaching and find it immensely satisfying to work one on one with students to help them understand and excel at subjects I am passionate about.I am a patient and enthusiastic tutor as well as a friendly and outgoing person that has no problem engaging with students in a fun manner. I recognize that each person has different ways of learning that work best for them and believe that each student has the potential to excel at any subject they put their mind to when taught in a style that works for them. I aim to be the tutor that will take the time to figure out how best to teach each of my students so that they will not only understand the material enough to do well in their classes now, but retain the subject matter for future studies. In my free time I enjoy cooking, going for walks in parks or playing board games with friends, reading comic books or watching tv shows on Netflix.I look forward to getting to know new students and help them build the confidence and knowledge they need to succeed in their future endeavors!

I have over eight years experience tutoring, mostly in math and science, but other subjects as well. I attempt to find analogous concepts from a student's other interests or daily experiences to make abstract concepts more understandable. I believe that generally, grasping a concept follows on from realizing it's not so foreign as we used to think.

I'm a fourth year medical student at the University of Pennsylvania who is applying to pediatrics residency programs. I graduated in 2006 from Yale University with a bachelors degree in History. I subsequently completed a post-baccalaureate program at Bryn Mawr College to complete the premedical course work and matriculated into Penn's medical school. I took a year off from medical school between my third and fourth year to get a masters degree in education focusing on medical education but also learning a tremendous amount about K-12 education as well. While I plan on being a physician in the future, I know that education will play a major role in my career whether it's educating patients, medical students, or residentsHaving gone through the rigors of the college and medical school application process (including taking the required standardized tests), I'm very familiar with both the content and the test taking process. For the last two years I've served as a teaching assistant to the first year medical students in the Gross Anatomy course. During my time at Bryn Mawr I tutored students who were struggling in the basic sciences (physics, biology, chemistry and organic chemistry).I've also spent a great deal of time working with children of all ages. From my time spent as a canoeing instructor for 9-14 year old boys in Belgrade Lakes, ME to my medical school pediatrics rotations, I'm very comfortable working with people of any age (newborn through adulthood).I'm a big baseball fan, and also love being outdoors, (whether its going on a backpacking trip for a week or just a short run). I look forward to working with you in the future

I graduated Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelors in Biology. During my time there I tutored many students, aged middle school to college, in subjects including SAT and ACT prep, Algebra, Calculus, Biology, and Chemistry. I then worked in a neuro-psychiatry laboratory before starting medical school in Kansas City. Throughout my lengthy education I have taken several courses on each of the subject that I tutor and have taken quite a few standardized exams. This has allowed me not only to master the information, but also to experience a variety of teaching styles. I know first hand how important it is to tailor teaching towards an individual and always work to make the most of my time spent with those I tutor. In my spare time I enjoy playing and listening to music, singing karaoke, playing tennis, and traveling.

I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Massachusetts-Boston with a B.S. in Exercise & Health Sciences and a B.S. in Biology. I am in the process of applying to medical school with the hopes of becoming a Physician. I am also currently working toward becoming a certified EMT for the city of Boston. Surprisingly, I was not always as passionate about Science, learning and medicine as I am today. It wasn't until college when I was enrolled in Anatomy and Physiology that I began to discover my true passions with the encouragement, inspiration and support of enthusiastic professors and fellow students. I have been a Biology, Anatomy, Physiology and English tutor for almost 4 years now and tutored a total of over 400 students in that time period.I like to create a relaxed and comfortable environment for those that I tutor. Communication is key and I believe it is important to be able to explain topics in a variety of ways to be sure that students of all different learning styles and backgrounds can understand and digest the information fully. I am very friendly, enthusiastic, compassionate, and patient. I truly love to learn which is why I enjoy teaching others.Contrary to popular belief, not all my time is spent in a classroom, studying or tutoring. In my free time I enjoy photography, music and playing guitar and piano. I am also an avid Boston sports fan!

I recently graduated from University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Biology and Physiology and I am currently applying to medical school. While at UCLA, I had many great opportunities tutoring and mentoring both children and college students. I volunteered with Kids Korner through which I was able to provide tutoring and mentoring services in an underserved community in North Hollywood, California. I helped children in subjects ranging from math to English to geography. I also led tutoring sessions for college students in a nutrition course and an anatomy course. I would like to continue and help students in subjects they struggle with. I enjoy tutoring a broad range of subjects, but especially science subjects (such as anatomy, physiology, nutrition, life sciences, etc.) and math subjects (such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, etc.). I strongly believe that if a student and tutor work together they can conquer the hardest of problems. As a tutor, I always try to instill the importance of a higher education and its role in a successful future. In my spare time, I enjoy reading a good book, cooking (especially experimenting), crafting, playing tennis, and learning random facts!

I graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology Physician Assistant Program in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in science and a minor in Psychology. After graduating, I moved to Boston, where I worked as a Physician Assistant in the Cardiac Surgery Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. Medicine is an amazing profession, but my favorite part of the job was when I got the opportunity to be an educator. Whether it was patients trying to understand what was happening to their bodies, prospective students seeing if the field of medicine was for them, medical students working on their clinical rotations, or new hires learning the ropes, getting the chance to sit down with people and share my knowledge and love of the material was consistently the highlight of my day. I've always had an aptitude for math and science and have been unofficially tutoring my peers since middle school. I believe that if you present any subject matter in a functional way that focuses on developing a strong understanding of the core concepts, you can make even the most complicated material accessible and applicable without the need for hours spent on rote memorization. This method has proven to instill a deep working knowledge of the material in students of all ages that will stay with them long after they pass the test. In my spare time I'm a comedian who enjoys both comedy improvisation and stand up, and I'm also a life-long gamer always on the hunt for that next great puzzle to solve!

I graduated from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas receiving my bachelor's in psychology and biology. My future goal is to attain a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) at an American accredited dental university. Tutoring has been a part of my journey since I was an undergraduate, volunteering at an elementary school to tutors kids in sciences, English and mathematics, although these are some of the subjects, I am most passionate about human anatomy and physiology, biology, organic chemistry. Learning the techniques and formulas to succeed in education is really important and I will try to do everything to help you achieve your goals. I believe that getting the basics down are one of the most important foundations in education. In my spare time, I try to go to the gym, get engaged in community service and volunteer at the hospital.

Both my parents are retired teachers which made education a very highly valued subject in our home when I was growing up. We were encouraged not only to learn in school but to appreciate opportunities to learn and be curious in all daily activities. During my undergraduate years at Miami University where I achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Science as well as my time in medical school at Rush University Medical College where I will soon receive my Doctorate of Medicine, I have tutored fellow students as a way to help out as well as a way for me to stay sharp with tricky subjects. I believe that teaching is the best way to reinforce knowledge and master material. We all learn in different ways and I think that identifying our strengths and weaknesses as learners can help us succeed as well as know when to ask for help. Certain subjects and the methods by which they are delivered may not fit the learning style that best serves you - this is where I feel tutors can provide assistance in order to keep up your confidence and progress. I greatly enjoy teaching and tutoring in the biological and physical sciences, many levels of math, and Spanish. Also,I have taken many standardized examinations on my way to medical school and tutor in ACT, GRE and MCAT test preparation. When not tutoring, I enjoy cooking, listening to and playing music, playing soccer and basketball and spending time with my 4-year-old daughter.Learning and education are lifelong endeavors, let me help you when you need a little help or are completely lost on certain subjects. Regardless of your needs, I'll be happy to figure out your learning style as well as to listen to your goals and help you to achieve and surpass them.Take care!

I recently graduated from Towson University in Maryland with a Bachelor's Degree in Science with a concentration in the functional biology of animals. During my stay at Towson, I learned a lot about myself and about other people by getting involved with tons of different activities and groups. To name a few, I was a Resident Assistant for two and a half years, captain of the club soccer team, and an active member of Beta Beta Beta, the biological honor society.I began peer tutoring at school during my sophomore year for Anatomy & Physiology I & II. I soon realized how much I enjoyed helping other people learn, so I began assisting my residents with homework assignments, lab work, and helpful study tactics. I love to tutor nearly all subjects relating to biology, but my favorite subject to tutor is Anatomy & Physiology II. I believe that everyone is the author of their own story; as long as you want it and are willing to work for it, you can achieve it.
